Have you heard about videophone will install on phonebooth for public?

I been requested sprint company about install videophone on phonebooth for public. They will start work on it soon. They said will install at the mall,airport,hospital for patients, and hotels and college for videophone with phonebooth for public. If you like to make additional meeting with some of other telephone companies and do your own negotiant about it so they will start with it. But I am not sure if I did already know it but why not discuss about it and advocate about this situation. If you already knew about it then tell me about it details and when??? So we can make it push them to do that someday. I know deaf have the power to support our group to sign up petition to have videophoone install on the phonebooth that where deaf people goes that area at mall and airport and hotel room also many others too. I like to hear feedback about this situation.

Yes, I found out I read in the "People" magazine, it was invented by a deaf man. I don't remember what's his name, anyway. Y'all don't have to dial the phones and type the ttys all the times. But I like the idea! :P For example, when your friends or your family relatives who live too far away and haven't see them so long... then you can finally see them on videophone!

Yes but they just working on it right now and will announcing us after they made new technology device to be install the videophone on the phonebooth for public soon don't know when yet.

Because Sprint company asked deaf customers how they serve us better and I raise my hand up and asked a questioned and I wondering can they put videophone install with phonebooth for public and they said wow that is a good question and they wrote it down and they are going to work on it for making a new technology device and after successful then they will announcing us about new technology device to be install videophone with phonebooth together in the near future.But I am not too surely if they are doing their work on it. Who can find it out about those that and see if they are serious business doing work on this issue or not. I am pray that they are working on it right now.

My concern was vandalism and abuses. There was public VP at Gally, and stupid students pulled prank on them making them useless. I am sure this would happen at anywhere no matter what. Since we got wireless pagers and free VP for residentials, I don't see need of the VP booth. But AGAIN, if it is carefully placed in area where there is minimal opportunity of abuses, then it MIGHT be good idea for that location.

They might be have installed video surviellance monitoring of Videophone with phonebooth for public inside hotel by lobby room and hospital emergency room and patient room, inside the mall , college inside the library room , inside the convention center , inside theatre, and some addendum inside the building too.
Because they are not responsible for monitoring on video surviellance those who did damaged and can lead for arrest vandalism and telephone company redo repair the damage and vandalism is responsible to pay for it. It helped by evidence with video surviellance. Smile you are being video taped while you are using it! You can contact those who provides that system and meeting legislatures to get approval from the state or federal to pay for it as equal their rights for deaf and hearing. Because Hearing using phonebooth what about deaf using videophone comes to modify with phonebooth? Go fight for it as your rights and get approval by the ADA and I know deaf have the power to win on that case because that ADA advocated of your rights.ok you got that word! Naw, I wouldn't think anyone would put up video cameras to protect public videophones. Then again, I don't think there ever will BE public videophones. Cellular is the way to go, portable video technology will be the way to go.

Ok I understands that and Yes, that is true, I wondering how to keep off from vandalism and if damaged then will need to have telephone company repairing it? Or other company will do fix it up instead of crime not have to pay for it or what? What is your suggestion? I like to hear your feedback? Yes that is good to use portable cellular or sidekick 4 or 5 or 6 new designation and new additional more formal than SK2 and use lithium battery that will last long for 5 years to replace new lithium battery? or what else do you have idea about this and keep work on it brainstorm to improve our satisfactory with new high technology for SK4 ??? or something like that???
And also for the hearing people who like to use videophone with phonebooth to see lover or husband or wife or long distance to see family on video to see each others too.

You think having video survillence would solve problem? There are so much crimes that went unsolved EVEN there was video survillence captured the crime activity. Most prankster mask their identity and I am sure it is just misdeamnor at most cases and the cop wouldn't ever bother investigate them UNLESS it is truly felony.

Don't you know that my vehicle was stolen and recovered, the cop don't EVEN care to pull fingerprint out of my vehicle and pursuit the investigation!!! Sure, I am pissed off, but think again, the COPS are now overworked, overwhelmed, understaffed, the court is backlogged by months and months.
What the hell can I do about it? Glad my insurance cover most of the damages, and I have to pay deductible. Now, that is why I don't think survillence camera would even work with these pranksters.

I do not know but what I am trying to do is conversation with brainstorm and how they can serve us and you better too. If there is no way they can do for us then make our own portable cellular with videophone instead of not have one videophone with the phonebooth. Is there any way you can say about it? VP in SK3 or next

Just wait as Tmobile and a few Japan companies are working together on a new development for a SK with built-in VP. It requires 3G speed. Japan and Sweden are success with the cells. I believe it will not be like 29.99 Data plan only. Probably more but it would be worth it. I am looking forward to it.

I have no idea but it could be happen like that and hope there is something can work on it protect from hacker use by firewall and anti viruses and ad ware info. and block them too. But Federal and State can access the firewall to check up for info. to see if there is any illegal info. or copyright or conspiracy and others too.

I have both the Sorenson vp-100 and the Dlink DVC 1000- i to eye already. However, we were talking about the Sorenson videophone booths at Gallaudet.

Personally I think the deaf need to learn to read and write better, like for email and IM, etc. How are the deaf ever going to learn when the communication for them becomes more and more simple??

But in public places like airports, it might come in very handy. It might be worth a try.

I think you are mistaken there-- I have several friends in Gally and they did use the VP available in "centers" to make calls to my VP-100.

It doesn't matter which brand you use, as long you know somebody's IP address to interconnect between two different brands of VP.
