Well said, Lantana.Lantana said:Personally I think the deaf need to learn to read and write better, like for email and IM, etc. How are the deaf ever going to learn when the communication for them becomes more and more simple??
But in public places like airports, it might come in very handy. It might be worth a try.

It doesn't matter which brand you use, as long you know somebody's IP address to interconnect between two different brands of VP.

diehardbiker65 said:Afraid that it won't be for long time! Alot of TTY manufacturer is ready to go out of TTY business very soon. As of right now, they (TTY manufacturers) is struggling and working on new products other than TTY! Yes, TTY sales now almost FLAT! Almost no one is buying new TTY. No manufacturer can survive if there is no sales for period of time.
BUT, there is good news! There will always be IP relay service for a long time!
Please remember, I have nothing against TTY, they had served me very well in the past 30 years, and it is time to accept technology changes. My first TTY was Western Union desktop Model 15! Very bulky and noisy, and DAMN realiable!
DreamyHawaii said:Yes that is true and I think it is something that need to be modify with tty comes with vp together so that way it can keep up their business running along the way and better yet to be there?
diehardbiker65 said:I don't think this idea would work out. Copyrights and patents is one of the biggest barriers companies have to face. I am learning alot about patents and copyrights. They don't come out cheap! I dropped my jaw when I see the cost of trying to make something new. The cost is way way way unbelieveable, and because of this cost it is TRUE gambling because you never know if you would come out successful or not. Most patent don't come out with success. Only handful of patent end up profitable, but not overnight.
Don't you know that one needs AT LEAST 100,000 dollars to get new product and patented. Prototype usually cost at least 25,000 dollars a unit, depending on what you want. So, think about it and figure out how much you need to sell to break even. I now understand why one of these VP switcher that some of us already heard though here selling for 150 dollars. That is because somebody invented this device and need money back to break even. Yes even at 150 dollars!
All business have to follow the law of "supply and demand". There is no way to beat this natural law.

Hmmm something we can do with our meaty FEC check this month.
