Back then, I had 1977 Toyota Corolla "rustbucket". I was planning on killing the car before throwing it to dump. I drove car without changing oil, oil filter, air filter and even sparkplugs. Every time when oil goes low, I pour in 1 quart of oil when it need. I have driven nearly 50,000 miles without change anything.

I finally sold the heap to my friend's brother for $50 buck. I was surprised that car won't die before I sold it to next sucker.:wave:

I remmy watching "Slick 50" commerical and they pour Slick 50 engine oil treatment and let it run for 15 min then drained out oil completely and removed oil pan and valve cover. Then they fired up the car and it runs 4 hours without oil in engine.

Anyone had that experience driving without any service on a car for many miles and it still runs? :laugh2:

lol tell that to me :) I have a 2001 Ford ZX2 Escort and I sometimes change my oil almost every 10,000 miles. Since I bought the car new I used to be religious on the oil changes per the Ford owner's manual (change every 5,000 miles) After I paid off the car I got so busy with my life I didnt pay so much attention to the car's maintenance.

Yet Im AMAZED the car only needed 1 quart of oil after its last change (a year and 7k miles ago) . Right now the clock's at 155,000 miles and counting. I cant even believe, for the life of Riley, that I couldnt even kill a FORD! lol Even it still got its original battery, timing belt and clutch.

My old 1994 Ranger must have to be so such a wimp compared to the Escort. The Ranger blew head gasket at 125K, 135k dumped its clutch, and 145k I had lot of mis-firings from the sparkplugs even though I had em changed at 105k . The oil change range was like every 7k-8k miles. I ended up trading it in at 145k for the Escort.

and oh BTW...The Escort still runs :)

I was sick and tired of repairing and spending all these unecessary $$$$ on my old holden commodore, and you may have remembered the picture in the auto talk section, talk about that shitbox!

I know a good friend of my dad's, he got a 1989 Ford Mustang Lx 5.0l 302 engine! He never changed the oil for 7 years! Every time the oil goes low, he would put dirty old oil in it. So far it still running, no smoke what so ever! Blew the head gasket like 3 times. He also abuse the car, lol. He abuse it as doing power shifting every gear, yet haven't die on him. He has a built motor waiting for it to go in but the current one just wont die!
