How are gun and ammo prices in your area? Also, how is availability?

I've noticed that the price of ammo is really going up, and sometimes not all kinds are available. Also, our local gun shop said that they are back ordering some guns because the demand is more than the supply available.

I'm wondering if this is the situation in other parts of the country, or just a local problem.

same here. my friend and i are buying smaller gun for CCW purpose and lot of CCW guns are in back-order. :mad2:

I'm not sure about ammo price because we bought enough but I imagine it's higher than during Bush Administration.

For example, we have one box of 9mm that was about $11 a year ago, and is about $17 now.

I try to watch for sales and pick up a box or two. But the cost of ammo cuts into our practice.

Shot gun shells seem to be OK for price and availability. Every thing else is going up, or hard to get. Some of the shelves at the gun shop were almost empty. They still had some ammo but they didn't even get to put it on the shelves because people bought it as soon as it arrived.

Have you ever considered doing your own reloading?

I just called the gun range that I go to and they said - "a box of independent goes for $11.76." That's their own ammos that they reloaded and I HATE it because it's so FILTHY. They did not have any Winchester. :(

yes but too expensive since we don't shoot very often. it's just too damn costly anywhere in here. :(

is it me or what that guns are getting cheaper now...

no. have you shot remmie 870 or mossie 500? also looking at mossie 20-gauge

Yeah... The 870 is everywhere.

Theres a reason Benellis went up in price 100% and some. :) They're really good.

Why 20? what are you using it for? squirrels or doves?

the guy in west Maryland offered me his old 12-gauge shotgun (1 round only).... had to kindly declined it due to NJ's arse firearm law. it was a nice shotgun though.... dang...

home defense in highly-densed area... like condo.

i edited my prev post.

Hmm :) then the 12 gauge bean bag would be ideal.. from benelli of course. Very light and ka-boom.. Your intruder is on the ground crying for mercy while you attempt to fold his face in by kicking him repeatedly..

ooo these old ones.. I like them too. simple. What law?

any firearm in one's possession must come from a person with FFL (aka Licensed Firearm Dealer) so he'd have to give his shotgun to NJ dealer and then transfer it to me. costs $$$$ though unless I know one :mad2:

every single gun in NJ must be registered.... ridiculous...
