I understand how you feel and I'm so sorry that you're not feeling well right now. I'm really, really sorry that I couldn't be there for you, but I was banned from AD for a week and couldn't respond to your post as soon as I wanted to. I'm also having a difficult time right now and ended up sleeping for most of the afternoon which is why I couldn't answer your post until now. Again, I'm really sorry about that. I just received your PM and am going to respond. You and I can talk whenever you want. I'm always here for you Travis. I hope you know that. :hug: You do not need to talk about anything here on AD that you don't want to. I'm currently taking:

1. Depakote/Divalproex 2000mg (Valproic Acid)

2. Fluoxetine 40mg (may be changed to 100mg Lamictal with additional increase)

3. Geodon 80mg

4. Trazodone 100mg (when feeling level) and 300mg as needed (when manic or can't sleep)

5. Topamax 50mg

6. Fexofenadine 180mg

7. Imitrex 100mg as needed

You're right Travis that drinking beer and alcohol is not good for your health or when you are taking medication. It can cause serious problems including death by alcohol poisoning. That is what the hospital psychiatrist at the time told me after I was diagnosed with bipolar 3 years ago.

smithtr, NEVER drink alcohol with medications you're taking!!!! They are BAD! It will make you very sick or even kill you. Please don't drink. Eat well.

I'm so glad that you will be talking to your psychiatrist. He or she can explain why it is important not to drink alcohol while taking medication. My psychiatrist told me after I was diagnosed with bipolar never to drink since it can cause alcohol poisoning and death, so I don't.

Actually drinking is dangerous with mental illness since a lot of mentally ill people try to "medicate" with drinking or drugs. There is a dx called dual diagnoses. Avoid drinking at ALL costs. Also since a lot of meds (especially seizure meds) tend to really mess up the liver, drinking isn't a good thing.
I have to say I kind of wish they had ....not group homes but more like intense social services for folks with developmental issues that aren't mental retardation/autism.
Travis.....how old are you? I have a friend who has been in and out of pysch placements, and I remember her being really frustrated at the fact that she seemed to be the only kid who had an organic mental illness. Virtually all the other paitents had substance abuse problems.
If there are a lot of people in the program with substance abuse issues, it may make it harder for you to resist drinking.
 
I couldn't agree more with DD's post. Travis, people with bipolar disorder are especially prone to having a dual diagnosis of bipolar and substance abuse. In fact, it's quite common. In my case, I really need to fight the urge to drink when I'm manic because this is a time when I feel on top of the world (very happy), confident and as if nothing can stop me.

I am very feeling not well I have problem my stomach is not good. I went to hospital because I need to important to responsibility go to hospital I went to talk to discuss to my doctor said question to examine. i was got gas and not feeling well funnies that is why not feeling well

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well, but am glad you went to the hospital. Did the doctor give you any medication to help your stomach feel better? You could try taking Pepto-Bismol if your stomach is upset. Get well soon! <hugs>
 
really I surpised I have problem i don't know what is happened I surprised I don't understand I don't have experience because i am very tired low my time. I am very bad headache because worst to tired. I think so very tired because be careful i have funny tired and that is why worst my health.................... that is tired easy too much because i don't understand i have problem my headache is still cochlear implant.. it is difficult to complication headache.

Since your cochlear implant was removed, your headaches shouldn't be caused by your CI. I think there might be another reason for your headache. I would talk to your doctor (or a neurologist) to find out what that is.

I think so I talk to Doctor Brain Westerberg, there is name neecy that is why cochlear implant is give you explain to you I Hope stil headache, that is why important to help you search find new neugolist that is important to explain to you i need to help you I support to Hear Again, I wish be continue to talk to keep support to you. Wonderufl for you support to you research find neugolist to cochlear implant. I think so possible help contact to new doctor maybe surgery or not sure figure out to cochlear implant.
