Yay!!! That is great!!! What color is the little bundle of joy? How is Mom?^Angel^ said:So far she only deliever one kitten, and it's black, looking really good too, she still in labor and in alot of pain, looks like we may expecting 3 or 4 more kittens....
One black kitten born at 1:50 pm
Looks just like Mom huh? Poor Mom, I hope the others will come out fast too, so this way, Mom won't be in such pain. Labor is not easy. Congratulations to Mom on her first born!!!^Angel^ said:2nd kitten is now out....
^Angel^ said:Third one now out, and doing GREAT!!
Roadrunner said:How? Meow back?
Actually, by feeling her stomach, after the third one arrived and cleaned up, I felt around Panther's stomach area to see if there were anymore kitties, it seems like a possibility of two more...at least I do know that there is one more waiting to 'meow' its way out and also, after watching Panther's stomach closely and sure enough, more movement....
Interestingly, the second kitty was breached (born with its rear coming out first) and watched Panther licking where Panther probably assumed was the kitty's head...a few minutes went by and finally I took a small washcloth and rubbed the kitty's face, peeling and pulling off the sac so the kitty could breathe. Then several minutes went by and noticed how this kitty was breathing, it was raspy...therefore, I picked up the kitten and did a manuever swinging the kitten up and down from my knees (short up and down movement)...sure enough, then the kitten 'meowed' and was relieved the kitten was fine...and I eventually had to do it once more and once again, the kitten meowed and moved....doing this manuever helps make sure the lungs are cleared. Kind of a nice feeling knowing that this kitten's life was saved and doing well now.
At this time, Panther is obviously very tired and worn out, totally exhausted...I am sure once she gets a bit of rest, she'll then gather what strength she needs to get the next kitten out.
Until later--for now.

Latest update:
Still three wiggly, squirming cuties as blackie or smokey, tiger (blk. stripes) and a greyish black that are constantly bobbin' their little heads up and down, sideways, ever which way just to get at momma's milk. Quite a sight to just watch that! Panther's completely worn out and she just lays there and hasn't bothered to move around or leave the box. From time to time, I'll wake her up just to be sure she isn't so out of it and pet her around her head....
After she had her third one...and the third one was cleaned up, I did noticed some movement within Panther's stomach and a couple of contractions....since then, nothing...and that has been several hours ago now....by morning, I'll get Panther up and see if she'll move some and eat too...if it doesn't look good, then we'll take her to the Vet to see whether she still has any more babies that hasn't come out yet. Otherwise, it's been such a long day...constantly being beside her, watching those cuties climb over one another, etc.
There, I think that covers it unless ^Angel^ has anything else to add. But then again...*looking up--* wondering just how does she keep up with all the dancing and being sooo excited?!![]()
they sound so beautiful!!!! I hope Panther is alright, and by morning, she will be able to deliver the rest of her kittens. You and Angel must be so tired after caring for your Grandkitties!!! The poor thing, she must be so tired from pushing so much!!!!

Roadrunner said:It sure was good to see the momma cat up and about, went to nibble a little on the cat food...slurp up a little water too. Then went back to carry out her momma duties.
Hmm...I can't help thinking that we're being called grandparents....oh well, I don't mind, at least these grandkittens won't be asking us for $$ !!
It's a little hard telling whether there could be one more or not...that remains to be see...that is after I checked her stomach.![]()

^Angel^ said:Oh yeah, since it was my first time I actually witness a birth of kittens, and it was one amazing experiences for me even there are times I almost feel the needed to fainted, but awww they're soo cutee, the mother did an awesome job even it took her ALL day trying to get those kittens out, she is a good mother and is taking great care of her babies....
She will get an award from us grandparents soon as she gets well and alot of rest
I forgot to add that Roadrunner did an amazing job helping the mother cat with her birth of kittens, I'm just glad he is here and I wouldn't even know what to do without him...I should call him Dr Roadrunner for now on LOL
Roadrunner said:The tiger one is the one that I ended up saving its (can't say, she/he yet)--maybe that's a good name?
but, I think it's a great name for the one you saved. You should have the honors of naming this kitten.Roadrunner said:Doctor? Hmm...I don't think I hold a(certificate/license), but the best I could be is some sort of animal whisperer...one who is a 'natural' and having phenomenal connections with animals/pets. But hey, who's complaining, afterall, I got a cute nurse assistant here--
Although, getting her help sometimes can be a hectic thing to do, simply cuz she's been flyin' and dancin' high up on the clouds lately....

It was a wonderful experiences watching the birth of kittens, I had fun and RR did a wonderful job too..
CODAchild said:That is so true ^Angel^. Two years ago, I witnessed my dog Chandler having puppies, she had 5 of them, and it was the best experience of watching her give birth to her puppies. I kept petting her head the whole time, and she was so loving, and I think grateful that she wasn't alone during the birthing process. It's an experience you and Roadrunner will never forget.
You both did such an excellent job with helping Panther and her kittens. You should both pat yourself on the back for an awesome job!!!

CODAchild said:Let's call you "Roadrunner Doolittle", and Angel "Flashdancer"![]()
