Things are looking up for me. I got a job with the University of Kentucky two weeks ago and there's already talk of it going permanent. It's more security work, but at least I got my foot in the door and that could lead to something bigger and better. I'm also walking 4-5 miles a night, so maybe I can start to get rid of this gut. :P Never thought that the last boss was doing me a favor when he fired me.
I finally talked to the state coordinator and took my SCPI last week. SCPI is the sign language skills test that they use up here. I had a few problems with fingerspelling, but it went better than expected. It's been four years since my last ASL class and I remembered most of it. There are STILL brain cells left!!! I'll let you know when I get the results back. I won't be interpreting, but I'll know where I need to improve. That's a step in the right direction.
