Glad he got caught in time, otherwise hideous crime could've committed

I forgot you mentioned that before. The media seems to be on a witch hunt for people on the spectrum. It's repulsive! I don't blame her for not telling.

Problem is a lot of these kids stand out in a crowd as being different. This leads to bullying or teasing or worse and some of these kids who go on a rampage reach the end of their rope and lash out at those who did harm or who they feel did harm to them. You can't just hide ASD and act like it doesn't exist. These kids need all the help they can get and ignoring their needs and acting like nothing is wrong with them isn't the way to do it.

Who said to ignore anything? If you're afraid of bullied kids then maybe it's the bullies you should go after.

I thought you said gun is the problem and needs gun control, right?

YES! My niece was getting phone calls every 5 minutes from bullies at her school , some messages were left on their voicemails and her parents saved them . They called the police and the police installed a phone call tracker , my sister said they were able to get each kid name and address . They went to each kids house and told their parents they'll NOT press charges this time but if their child call their house once more they report them to police. The kids were violating their child rights as a disable person. I told my brother in law I would handle it for him and he laughed and said , Thanks but he want to do it the legal way. I am a chip off my dad I hate to say . We really needs to go after bullies who push kids to their breaking point. There needs to some law that hold bullies accountable to pushing their victims to committing suicide and or mass shooting .

Makes my blood boil. It seems like bullies are rarely punished. Glad they where able to catch the ones harassing your niece!

Oh yes you can. I know of a woman with ASD (Asperger's) and she says it's very easy to hide- which is why the diagnosis for girls is lower than for boys but even then it's not too hard for boys to not stand out. I know a young man that at first glance you'd swear was not ASD- unless you knew what to look for. And no he had none of the tendencies mentioned above i.e. violence etc.

I didn't read anything in the original link that said anything about this guy being bullied. It mentioned that he had some friends.

Im sure SEB don't believe school is responsible for bullies, he believes its parent's job to fix these problems.

Me, I believe school is also responsible for these problems too, school were designed to teach kids how to deal with society at large, NOT at home. For parents, its family matter that they are responsible for.

Americans could learn a bunch about Japan school. I was impressed how they (Japan school) apply bunches of responsibilities on every students, for instance clean up after themselves, plus helping others which involves learn how to respect those that have nothing to do with their families.

Often bullies are in silence, there are plenty that don't want to share their experience.

So police say not uncommon for kids use explosives that odd kids. Guns in his room .why the guns not kept locked and his parents have locker key hidden.Surely one would notice teenage child making bombs.Dysfuntional family who should never allowed gun licencei.DAd taking him hunting oh like that's respecting life blowing heads off animals in the name of recreation and then wonder why their kids not respecter of life.

I don't know about kids today, but in my generation kids (especially boys) set off cherry bombs and other small "explosives" to make a boom and sometimes destroy things. They weren't used to intentionally hurt people.

From what I read, the father left access to the family guns because he wanted the son to be able to defend the family in case of a home invasion attack.

I would think so.

I don't know if the whole family was dysfunctional. I haven't read enough to make that judgment. But the parents did seem clueless (very unaware).

And I bet you're right about seb. Yes teachers are suppose to stop any bullying they see and see the principal's office and they should call the parents . I feel the parents or one of them should be there to know just what is going on. But this take time and some people feel that they were bulled as kids so the next kid should be able to take it too. But it a lot
difference today kids are bulled on the internet too in front of the whole world and that can be more than some kids can cope with, even if stop going on line they it still going on .

Most of the boys I knew growing up like to blow things up now and again. Not saying it's safe or right but it does happen a lot. Like Reba said, not to hurt people but just to have fun.

And I have to add so was the doctor and school . There had to been a red
flag somewhere along the line that people missed or chose to not worry about it.

Absolutely, the problem here is the people that are being bullied are many times too afraid to say they are being bullied. Also if they are being bullied or teased at school many times the administration is not even aware it is going on, until someone brings it to their attention. However, once they find out there is usually a zero tolerance policy toward it. I have been at schools where the bullies were expelled after they were given several chances to mend their ways. One thing about bullies is a lot of times they are either jealous of the person or being bullied themselves and go after someone who is weaker to bully themselves.

I liked to take the roll of taps from my tap gun and use a rock to made the tap go off. My mom hated it , it was OK for my ex brother to do but not a girl . Not fair.

My brother liked doing that to rolls of caps with a hammer. I preferred to use them in my toy guns. He ran out of his caps a lot quicker than I did.

I could hear it better that way , I didn't have a hearing aid yet and it was able to hear the sound better this way . I was too little to use a hammer , I was only about 4 or 5 yo . Yeah I used up my roll faster that way too. I wish I still had my Hopalong Cassidy outfit and gun. It came with a gun
holster too.
