I am a very thin person (5'8" and only 115lbs), I've been trying for years to gain weight but I just can't seem to do it, does anyone else have this problem, or have any tips on how to gain weight? And by tips I don't mean "eat lots of McDonalds" because that is BAD weight, I want to gain healthy weight.

Dont bother try to gain weight. Once you finally gain weight, before you know it, you could end up being overweight and that is much worse than being little underweight. Let your body take its own course. Eventually when your getting more mature, your body will slow down metabolism thus will gain weight.

I would suggest a good physical exam to rule out a medical cause, and then talking to a nutritionist. You may have metabolic issues, or something else going on that is preventing weight gain. If you're healthy, the nutritionist can give you a meal plan to help you achieve this goal.

If there's no medical cause for the issue, and you don't want to see a nutritionist, or you're not able to, I'd try to eat extra healthy snacks...Peanut butter is good. It's has protein, and it'll also help add some weight. Peanut butter and banana is a good snack. So is, peanut butter and an apple.

You may also want to try supplements, like Ensure, between meals. That will also help provide you with nutrients, but also might add some much needed ibs to your frame.

Good luck!

Work out. Lift weights and build muscle. That's the only real healthy way to gain weight.

Eh.

My husband has the same problem as you. He is tall and skinny but eats all the times. Blame it on his high metabolism.

Just wait until you are 30, and your metabolism will slow down drastically.

My husband's doctor told him to eat a lot of cheese, avocadoes, and eat every two hours... and in a result, my husband LOST three pounds. So he just gave up and just kept eating healthy food plus protein to keep up.

HOWEVER-- we both noticed that he gained some weight in his abs. YAY!
He is 6'3" and 150 lbs. Wirey but just fine for me.

Try the "Weight Gain 3000" from your local health product store like GNC or something?

It worked for Cartman on South Park when he tried "Weight Gain 4000". ;)

Of course, this won't really happen... unless you overdo it.

I'm sure that your local GNC store will have something for you. Ask them. :)
