i just found my Norton Internet Security cd that came with my laptop im fixin to install it. it says AntiSpyware edition. i hope it helps some.

Thank You!

i wanted to thank everyone who helped me. im using FireFox and i downloaded some stuff to clean out my computer which im gonna do once a week maybe twice. all you guys helped me and i really appreciate it.

I think that you should not to buy an anti-spyware software or a free one. The company knows a way around it, and tells you that it found a virus on your computer because the company did it on purpose that makes you feel confidence. Other software could not trace that virus because the company made its own program which is not really virus. This is not new to me.

I recommend you to buy an anti-virus (and firewall - only if you have faster modem) from a well-known company such as Norton, Mcfee, name of other software... You should not expect to believe everything what the anti-spyware tells you. It is pretty common that we forgot to update our anti-virus software once a year or so because time flies so fast. Hope that helps.

It's probably spyware or viruses. Sometimes, spyware wait for websites that have few sponsors... and then give you their own pop-ups.

They are adwares, not spywares. Spywares are type of software install into PC and gather private informations without user's knowledge.

Wiki: spyware

This link above has external links on security programs and guides for protection against spywares.

This ms anti-spyware is very helpful pop up alert which accept or Caution or RED Warning it's seriouis.

That helpful for me.. of course it's beta but will come and full verision later.

Up to you guys!
of course ADware is usually "good" but not yet become "BEST". *SMILE*

I think that IE contains some hidden files that sent back to M$ even you did not know what it was doing with your computer. It is just a nosey business. I don't know whether it is related to the cookies or firewall - I don't remember now. It used to block some websites that M$ does not want you to know about because of money issue.

Do you remember that M$ broke many laws which involved with its monopoly? Bill had absolutely no right to do that to us and other companies.

Firefox is nice. It allows you to block ads pop-up windows, and allow you to adjust your favorite design program. M$ will do that for the next version, but it is wise for us to use Firefox or other browsers that do not involve with M$. We had enough to hear bad news about the M$ company and its greedy.

Oh that - you can block the pop-up windows. Here is:

(1) Click "Preferences" from the menu bar
(2) Select "Web features"
(3) Click to check on "Block Popup Windows"
(4) Click "OK"

You are done.
