FreakyCat and sara1981 please check in!!

I did see on my local news about the tornados, I will pray for ADer's in tornado territory. I checked in with my KY family so far they are safe.

Whew! Im glad everyone in Arkansas is accounted for! I was especially worried for FC as she lives right in the area of the first tornado. Then when they mentioned a windstorm for the Little Rock and metro area I became concerned for Sara as well - since there was a HIGH possibility for a tornado to form with windshear and an unstable atmosphere.

As FC said - the tornado first touched down in Yell County near Ola (about a 10 minute drive from here, maybe not even that far!) Then it crossed the river then went on, barely missing Pottsville then smashed into Atkins. And of course it was on the ground for 3 and a half hours, and it went up into Missouri before it died out.

I was watching the weather alerts and the city of Clinton, AR took a direct hit and the tornado went right through downtown Clinton. My heart sank for those people who were about to lose everything in a matter of minutes.

The thing was big enough that they were detecting the debris cloud on the radar.

I am pretty sure my church is probably going to organize a crew to go help do some recovery in the affected area, and if so Im going to go do what I can to help out those who are less fortunate than I.

FC- yes please do give me your cell number in private so if this happens again I may be able to reach you, and the same goes for me as well as soon as I get a cell phone.

This was scary stuff for sure!

Your welcome. She probably put all of us in her ignoring list. haha

I don't think so, she can be overlooked sometime or not time to check more thread.

I'm glad that members from AR are ok during storm.

Dang... glad everyone okay as far as is the case with the tornadoes and etc... still, some of the pics are amazing enough..wow... that last pic of the tornado or so posted is in fact a funnel cloud and normally if there is a funnel shown but not till it touches down then it is a tornado.... if the funnel cloud is still moving but not touching down, then it probably either shortlived or gathering strength for a brief or so.. but that funnel cloud is thick enough.. wow....

Glad that everyone is ok!!! Yes, the weather is very strange for this time of the year.

That's sad that others died. My thoughts are with them and their families.

i got to see the damages.. OMG... no words to describe but devastation everywhere. i started to cry as i went along down the road. I saw my friend's trailer frame in someone else's yard. her place is gone. :( Wow...tins from the farmhouse everywhere in the trees .. I would say more than 3 miles along by the hwy... gosh u have to see it with your eyes... no words to describe but destruction. i cried after seeing the damages. :(

i read that there are more than 50 people dead from tornado outbreaks. They didnt have a warning in Kentucky! Why dont they have siren? Siren i think should be mandated to save peoples lives? dang! I hope with the wake up from the storm make them want to set one up to prevent deaths. :(

Sirens did go off in Atkins and saved alot of peoples lives but we dont have sirens in Cleveland as it is in rural area but i am sure people did heed the advice to take cover as there was only 2 deaths in Cleveland so thats good news.

Dixie have you see the damages in Atkins yet? I wonder? I didnt go there as they said better to stay away right now due to downed trees and all that so maybe the next few days I might pass thru and see .. Let me know ok.. :)

i still cant get over the fact that tornado was HUGE which is rare as usually it hit texas, okla and kansas.. not ark ... that's what the tv weatherman said..very RARE!!!! and especially in winter time too.. dang... it remind me of the tornado that hit Moore, Oklahoma a suburb of OKC in 1999. It look alot like that one! jeez!

wow that tornado look so big i feel so bad for people who lost homes to tornadoes and the damages are so great.

even i had rare tornado outbreaks that hit in williamston, millington and other cities in michigan last oct tornadoes did hit there it is rare for tornadoes to hit lower central michigan north of me in october OY

i have sirens in my town and my town is small town just outside of one city

Dang... wow.. I did see on the Weather Network channel about the tornadoes and the damages and etc.. later on evening newshour show.oh man... terrible damages indeed.. ohh...

I just saw my local news channel where it hit the hardest in Tennesse. I saw so many buildings and homes destroyed. My prayers are for those people effected by the tornado.
