The story in Fragile Machine follows a young woman named Leda Nea who is about to embark on a journey she can't even begin to imagine. Depressed with her life after the death of her young daughter, Leda literally decides to sign away her soul, and volunteers to take place in an experiment attempting to bridge the gap between humans and machines. They take her soul, and transfer it into a robot body built to resemble that of a female.

But the project doesn't go completely according to plan. As the woman's life force remains permanently trapped inside this hollow shell, she begins to wrestle with the very idea of existence. As time passes, it seems that thoughts slowly turn into waking nightmares, slowly descending into insanity, looking for any way to escape what she has become.

Fragile Machine is a unique film, animated or otherwise, which tells it's story through beautiful visual imagery set to music, rather than typical dialog flicks or even the occasional musical numbers. Although there is no dialog or singing, there is a doll which does some narration between the various segments, setting the stage for what is coming up next. Other than those few parts, the story plays out through the wonderful dream-like computer generated sequences.

This short movie (34 minutes) is about religion, science and soul. As a fan of 3D/CG (Computer-Generated), I found the information about this movie at one of 3D/CG communities where I usually post my works for them to criticize to improve my 3D skills. Anyway, I watched the trailer and I literally fell in love with this movie so I bought it... The visuals... are very colorful and beautiful. For deafies, it is visually arresting. Nas said that music (choirs) is very beautiful too. Anyway, I strongly recommend anyone to buy or rent/borrow (if you can find it in your local). Thanks to jeremiah_steven for pointing out about subtitles which it appears that it did not come up on my screen at all when I pressed the "subtitle" button. Anyway it does come with the subtitles: Japanese, French, Chinese and English. Here's some 'still' pictures:

Fragile Machine subtitles

Hey guys. I bought the Fragile Machine DVD too, but I'm a little confused, because it does have subtitles. It has subtitles in English, French, Chinese, and Japanese. Perhaps you didn't press the subtitle button? :wiggle:

What? I did pressed the subtitle button and it did not come up. btw, does it comes with on and off freezing? I did not use other features (menu), I went straight to the movie... perhaps I should re-check it again. 'Be right back'

Edit: Oops. You are right, JS. It does have the subtitles but it is strange because when I pressed the subtitle button and the subtitles did not show up at all plus on/off freezing. I'm not sure if 'freezing' is part of the movie or not.

Thanks for pointing it out. I will contact mods via pm to correct my post. Now I can watch the movie with subtitle! Hooray.
