Former Archbishop: Prince Charles Should Marry Camilla

The former Archbishop of Canterbury said Prince Charles should marry his long-time love Camilla Parker Bowles.

George Carey told the London Times that marrying Parker Bowles would be the "natural thing" for the heir of the throne to do -- adding that Charles "loves her."

However, Charles' office insisted the prince has no intention of getting married.

The church has remained neutral on the issue of the couple marrying.

Charles divorced Princess Diana before she was killed in a car crash in 1997 and many Anglicans oppose the remarriage of divorcees.

I knew that Prince Charles was always in love with Camilla and has for years but i wonder why he didnt marry her in the first place? If i remember right, Charles dated her before she married to another man?..so why didnt he marry her? geez!

Charles first met Camilla when they both were 21 years old... He loves her all his life. She rejected his offer to marry him because she don´t want to be queen in the future & want to be free. Their relationship remain as she found someone & married. Charles is godfather to one of her children..

That´s time Camilla & Diana used to be good friends before Diana met Charles & married him until she learns that her fresh husband keep in touch with Camilla DURING their honeymoon. (Only one day after married ). That´s why Diana hate Camilla for that.

During their marriage life, Diana knows that Charles cheat her with Camilla many times, that´s time Camilla was still married.

Diana knows Charles since she was a teenager. Camilla knows Diana´s crush on Charles so Camilla get Charles to marry Diana because of his future throne. Camilla is only woman, Charles loved in his life.

Diana didn´t know that Charles only use her to get pregnant because of throne. Diana knew that her marriage life with Charles end after birth to second son Harry.

I have a book "Diana´s true story" & also "Royal Duty".

I recommend you to buy "Diana´s true story" book. It´s VERY sad story what/how she had been through.

I will be surprised if it´s really true that Charles will marry Camilla. As far as I know that Charles don´t want to marry her but live together.

I thought Charles couldn't marry Camilla at first because she wasn't of royal blood. Nowadays I think it's perfectly allowed -- look at Denmark's prince marrying a common-person from Australia.

I understand better now and it is very sad that Diana had to go thru with his cheating all thru their marriage..no wonder she divorced him cuz she felt she deserve happiness with a man who truly loves her like Dodi but tragically they both were killed, not fair to her at all that she never achieved happiness once in her life. i truly felt sorry for her! not that miserable bastard Charles!..grrr..it looks to me if Camilla didnt want to be a queen then she wont marry Charles. Queen Elizabeth rejected Camilla

THE Queen has banned Camilla Parker Bowles from all high-profile official engagements to end talk of marriage to Prince Charles. The extraordinary about-face comes after a year of gradually moving Camilla INTO the spotlight. She is now understood to be bewildered and hurt by the sudden change. But pals say she was already aware the Queen was cold towards her.

One close pal said: "The plain fact is that the Queen has not said a single word to her or even looked her in the eye throughout the past year." At the heart of the change is Sir Michael Peat, the prince's new Private Secretary at St James's Palace. Sir Michael came to Charles after years of service to the Queen and still maintains strong links with officials at Buckingham Palace. A family friend said: "She is confused and upset but she has no intention of making a fuss. "She has never sought any public role or recognition. All she cares about is supporting the prince." Even though the new guidelines will have no effect on the Prince and Camilla's private engagements, her rejection is a new low for the couple. Camilla's profile has been raised gradually through her presence at a series of key royal engagements. She joined Charles and Prince William for a garden party and then a formal dinner at Holyroodhouse, the Queen's official Scottish home, last June. Then she was invited to last year's Queen's Golden Jubilee concerts, (shown above), at Buckingham Palace.

Camilla was even on the Queen's guest list for a Jubilee dinner at the Ritz in London. Opinion polls showed a gradual acceptance of their relationship and a broad agreement that they might one day marry. But the Queen's closest aides viewed the couple's growing popularity with alarm. Traditionalists argued that it trivialised the monarchy and said Camilla should take a back seat to real members of the royal family. One said: "It must be possible for them to have a happy private life without going public." But even when Camilla seemed to be at the heart of the family, she often felt unwanted. A close friend said: "There has been a great deal written about her being welcomed into the royal family.

"At the Jubilee concerts she was there, but apart from Princess Alexandra and some of the younger members of the family, they just looked straight through her." Nothing illustrates the situation better than a recent visit to Balmoral, the Queen's Scottish estate. The Queen was alone at Balmoral Castle while Charles and Camilla were staying at nearby Birkhall. A family friend said: "They didn't see each other once. The Queen would drive past the Birkhall entrance every day but ignored them completely. "It's this sort of pointless coldness which upsets Charles so badly. "They may never come to love or even like Mrs Parker Bowles, but they could be polite to her."

Yeah, it's the British government that is footing the taxpayers bill to accomodate the Royal Family through this fund call the Public Purse!

The Queen doesn't need the government to pay because she is a REALLY rich lady in her own right but she does..

As to whether Prince Dork should marry Ms. Adulterous. I personally think they should never marry. I doubt the British public will endorse the marriage between them two because they remember very well what these two have had put Princess Diana through absolute HELL. Yes, I thought the same as you that Diana divorced him until I read "Royal Duty" book. It's not Diana who want divorce but Charles.

Diana still love him but Charles wants a divorce.

They live separate officially with the accord by Queen because their marriage life goes hell.
