This procedure can be almost painless if done by an experienced doctor/nurse....I've had it done before....some do put vaseline on the tube before inserting it so it goes down more smoothly...and you're supposed to swallow continuously as it's being done.....I would not want this procedure done again tho'!....some blood came out of one nostril, so they had to get a smaller tube......
