Can one person make a tribe? Survivor: Palau, the 10th season of CBS' hit reality show, is about to find out.

In the middle of an unprecedented turn of events, one of the two tribes battling for survival, the Ulong, is down to its final member.

Week after week, the humiliated Ulongs have lost a physical or mental contest, forcing them to vote one member after another off the South Pacific island. After 21 days and an original team of nine, Ulong has only a solo representative:athletic underdog Stephenie LaGrossa, 25, a pharmaceutical sales rep from Philadelphia. Go Step!!!!!

Meanwhile, the eight members of rival Koror sit happily gorging on shark, enjoying their comparatively luxurious shelter (they won it after a bathroom-building reward challenge) and not worrying about drinking water (they won a 55-gallon drum's worth along with Crest toothpaste, Scope mouthwash and Pantene shampoo).

"The cliffhanger to last week — what you are going to see for the first time ever — is one person returning to camp alone," Survivor host Jeff Probst says of tonight's episode. "Stephenie doesn't have anybody to help her. If she can't find food longer than a day, she's in trouble."

"I'm so scared," LaGrossa said in last week's previews for the show (8 ET/PT) titled "I Will Not Give Up."

In responding to criticism that the show was getting too predictable, Survivor's producers decided from the start that the tribes would not merge at the point they have in the past, Probst says. That led to the lone-camper situation.

Bobby Jon Drinkard, 27, a waiter from Troy, Ala., and the last Ulong to be booted, says he expected the tribes to combine on Day 12. "Instead, " he says, it became "a pity party."

He adds: "You know conditions are going to be hard, but they're a lot harder than you imagine. Day 1, you think how grateful you are to get the chance to be on the show. But by Day 2 or 3, you're thinking, 'Why did I do this?' "

Probst, who won't confirm that a merge takes place tonight, says, "The risk if you don't merge is that one tribe decimates the other, and you have this horrible situation, and that's exactly what happened. What we anticipated as being a disaster turned into one of the greatest dramas we've had."

• The game started with 20 contestants instead of the usual 16 or 18. Two were eliminated as the tribes were formed.

• The contestants received no information or tools to start.

• The challenges have been more physical, many testing underwater stamina.

Survivor: Palau is consistently a top 10 show, with an average 21 million viewers. At least one person is voted off each week; the lone survivor wins $1 million. The finale airs May 15.

Steph had been working her butt off in her part of trying to win for her tribe and she is the last one being left on that tribe. I am praying she will be the person being left on the Island when the final show to win the million dollars. I am chanting for Steph all the way! :fingersx: Go Steph!

I think they're doing it differently than the other Survivor games, yes I am rooting for Stephine too, since she is the only woman who worked her buns off and won as many games as she could....

Unfortunately it doesn't look like she will win since the other tribe will get her out first or second before they get their own people out that were on their tribe in the beginning .... :(

I don't like the way the Survivor did it this way leaving one in the other tribe all by herself, that's scary  and doing all the work herself :ugh2: , how is she going to get some rest to play the game ???...doesn't sound quite fair to me if you ask me....

Go-Go-Go Stephine, Don't give up girl!! :fingersx:

:werd: I don't like the way they did this, either. But, I really do hope that Stephanie can pull out a miracle, and stay in the game. I'm still hoping for a merge.

Regardless, I'm with you, Angel! Go Steph! :thumb:

Step join the other tribe and she still in! Yay! ;) But, I wish she wouldn't have gave up too quick over a pizza. Whew! Glad to see that only one person had wrote her name down.

Yeah... cool... I like Stephanie.
Did you see Tom was drunk? He fell... hahaha. :giggle:

Hahhaha! Yes I sure did, That was funny. He did partied hard after having a good time catching big fishes. :thumb:

Next week, There suppose to be a twisted turn, Where whoever quit the game first will be the one living alone. OoOoOoOoOoOooo!

It's always interesting whenever they add twists and plots along the way...and I'll be sure to be 'tuned' in next Thursday to see how things go!

Right now, I do favor seeing Stephanie going all the way, I believe she's playing the game pretty good and instill traits of a true 'survivor'! ;)

I like Tom, Stephanie, Janu, and I guess that is all...

The others are mean... they were mean to Coby who is gay.
Sad that he is gone now. :(

Pretty facetious statement, coming from the board’s most vocal (and really only) gay basher. :squint:

I think the highlight of tonight’s episode was Ian’s blatant jab at Jenna Morasca. And I’m sure that the poster on the Sucks board who opined that half the other contestants didn’t even catch the reference is right on the mark.

While we’re on the subject of Amazon, I got an e-mail from Christy Smith the day before yesterday. (Anybody remember her)? It was a form letter, but being the sweetheart that she is, she took the time to personalize it by asking me how married life is going. She’s looking for people who will sponsor her in a 26.2 mile marathon run to raise money for a nonprofit organization called Challenge Aspen. Mayflower and I are going to send her $10 to help out. If anybody else wants to help out, PM me and I’ll forward the e-mail to you.

Well, at first I was rooting for him...
Then wow, his attitude...
He should have gone fishing with those men...
Make friends...
He is really hurting himself.

Last week, he was crying cause he said
he is happy that he came on Survivor, he
felt good winning games...
Cause at school, he drop out cause
the Jocks poked fun at him calling him sissy.

But is he really gay because he was born that way.
Or is he gay because of what happen when people
call him sissy. And they brainwashed him to make
him think that way.

He seemed so mad at the world... telling
men that he cook fish.... and
said he is staying away from the men
and he washed a woman's hair.

That is sad. I really thought he
was going to try to win all games
and have good self esteem and
show the whole world that he isn't
a sissy... and develop a macho image....

Wow... I am very disappointed.

:ugh:
:bump:

LOL Levonian, looks like you beat me to this.....

Miss Pinocchio--

I know what you mean.. Last week when Coby pour out his heart about what it was like when he was growing up, how kids were cruel to him and how he was picked on, and wasn't in any sports while he was in school now being on Survivor changed him by giving him a chance to be part of something that he wasn't able to be part of when he was younger, I sure did cried and felt really bad for him, but then yesterday his attitude started to stink, he was more of mocking the others in a way that really turned me off, It's like he hasn't prove that he is not going to be like the others or the others kids that were cruel to him when he was younger, he started to act like them in a way!...I'm sad that he is gone too but then again, if he wasn't voted out, they could have voted Steph out, so part of me feel glad that he is the one gone not her.....( I'm sorry :( )

I've been rooting for Steph since the first day of Survivor, there's something about her that made me feel that she deserves to win, her postive attitude, her smile, and the way she is around with others, and also she doesn't give up a game, she fought thru so much by trying to win a game as a team....

I do hope and is looking forward for Steph to be the last person standing to become the next Survivor....

I dont think they voted Coby out because he was gay... I think it was because how he and Janu were eating those donuts infront of the other people... Wouldnt you be mad enough to vote someone out if they were tearing donuts into pieces in your face and rubbing it in? Everyone else just ate the food that they were so tempted for, they didnt rub it in.

Oh I didn't think of it that way as he was gay, it was more of his attitude and the way he was mocking with others after baiting the fishes....Also he took Steph aside and trying to get her to join with him and Janu and again he was still mocking at the others that were watching him and Steph chatting with one other...

Yeah, it could be the reason also, he went a bit too far with what is happening and that may be the reason why he was voted out, if he didn' act that way or had mock others while eating donuts then he could be saved by the other members on Survivor ;)

No, Coby was not voted out because he is gay. If that were true, Hatch never would have won in Africa. It’s just that while most people don’t have a problem with homosexuals per se, most people dislike swishy, effeminate, in-your-face homosexuals. I think the other players saw him for what he was—a conniving little bitch, and they got rid of him at the first opportunity.

I don't know why they didn't get rid of him at first... walking
around naked, eww that is sick.

I am sOOoOooO happy to see that Janu quit! I thought Step would be voted out, because everyone was talking about how she was a threated. After seeing Steph cried, I cried too :tears: I hope Steph will make those girls a patch to get rid of the guys even Tom.. Sorry Steph deserved it more than Tom does. :nana:

Janu needed to go, and I'm also glad she quit. I did find it rather interesting that she won't actually be going home, but has to stick around to be on the jury. I kinda got the feeling she just wanted to go home, but well..."Too bad, Janu. You're stuck where you are!"

As for Steph, though. Girlfriend probably needs to watch her ass now, because, she is a tough competitor. She's a definite force to be reckoned with.

We'll see what might happen. I like her. I hope she wins the whole thing, because, she deserves it. :)
