Once upon a time in a land close to me,

Lived a little girl just down the street.

We were so young, she not much older than I

We became friends as time passed by.

We went through years where it was only fun and games.

Where nothing else mattered but I still saw her pain.

The years went on, finding us drifting apart,

Yet we remained close if only in heart.

Time found us back together once again,

We were like yesterday, the way it was then.

Though now both married and soon to be mothers.

We were so excited, growing with each other.

But the pain that my friend had gone through before

Came knocking with heartbreak upon my friend’s door.

She still made her, her beautiful way.

The strength she found through God’s grace.

Now the time that soon followed I learned the most,

The things that she showed me made us grow so close.

The days at hospital that never seemed to end,

My baby, not knowing, each day brought my friend.

After bringing him home life slowly came undone,

At the time unaware why I kept away from everyone

I’d just stay inside and hide in my shell,

And there I’d stay until I felt I was well.

She’d call if I stayed hidden away too long,

But only to find out what could be wrong.

She never said you did it again,

Or you let me down, you’re not my friend.

She only showed me what real love should be,

She was my friend when I didn’t feel anyone could be.

In the past years we said bye to her dad,

Pain that resurfaced joined the pain she had.

With the same strength she carries on,

She says that its me, but its her that’s so strong.

We raise our children, at times I’m her child too.

She doesn’t try to change me or the things that I do.

She’ll tell you she’s not perfect by any means,

But she wouldn’t be earthly if my angel had wings.

She‘s my friend, she‘s my sister, Angie please know,

How thankful I am for you beside me through all life has to hold.

Omg Dude that's sick I like it !!
You're very good

I'm surprised nobody commented this poem is really good.. maybe in the end kept getting more obvious not as mysterious as the beginning but I love it

Great job =D
