For Better or For Worse

One day I was chatting with a woman, and she told me
she is glad she divorced, she said her 22 years of marriage to
that pitiful husband, and glad she didn't have any of his children.
He begged her to stay in marriage, but she wouldn't. She is 45 years
old. She said she marry him before she really get to know him.
And the more she got to know him, the more she dislike him and doesn't
love him anymore.

I asked her, "he wasn't good enough for you? He wasn't so perfect?"

She said, "no no no, I meant I wish I married Mr. Right."

And I asked her again, "you made a vow, for better or for worse, and promise God that you will stay marry to him no matter what."

She said, "Oh I didn't take that vow seriously."

So I got 2 questions...

1. Mr. Right.... does that mean you have to find a perfect perfect guy for you that make no mistake, a prince, a knight, or somebody who are so good enough for you.?

2. Does For better or for worse mean, you get what you pay for?
and you have to stay with that guy forever and forever no matter how imperfect he is?

Did God say we have to marry Mr. Right?

The time , investments, the emotions, the responsiblities involved, the children's lives at stake, the finanical situation and things like that. I have heard many divorce stories, some were with a good reason and some were for the wrong reasons and some were because women were so greedy for money.

Indeed. Divorce is a complex topic. The typical instance of it has a lot of important variables, but I disagree with people who advocate banning divorce entirely.

What about those who were in an abusive marriage, don't they have the right to get out of the marriage? Even if the vows are written for better and for worse? Do you think it is fair for those victims to suffer during the marriage?

People get divorce all the time, I think it's none of our business and it's not our place to judge either.

Christian marrriage counseling is a must. Many time spouse of refusal make it more difficult. And true, not just women grred, men has probel too. Marraige is part of sacrifice everything to join the spouse. also what's really destructive if a spouse not do anything with her or his parents of controlling their marriage for protecting the spouse. That is in laws. Hahaha no wonder why all along like bewitched, monster in law, and many shows showing how in laws are. Some do have fortunate in laws. Smile lol

to get a divorce because of abuse. Her husband almost
killed her so she had to leave for good. That's sad but

Sometimes it's a big deal but sometimes divorce is really a good thing. It really depends on the situation.

Some people actually think you should still stay in a marriage even if your spouse beats the living shit out of you. That is not right.

Yeah both some men and some women are greedy.
Divorce is a big issue because of spousal support and child support.
Spousal support is awfully expensive.
Gotta have a real really good excuse to get a divorce...

Amen! I had bad experience sisuation in law's former family was very power MONSTER manison. They conttttrrroolll everything of richer. I dont trust who people richer or manison of I lost confidence. My former husband abused worse. I went to hosp and almost died and bleed broken vein my left leg. It blew bleed out anywhere on the floor and wall. After that again I went to hosp I had brusie in my lung. I got hell coughed a month and kept drink the water and sweat my head and cant breath so heavy hell. My dr told me no heal pills way for my bruise in lung both. I fed up former husband for 13 yrs married ENOUGH!!! I filed divorced former husband since 13 yrs I fed up with him since he drugs, abused and adultry 3 times and many quit jobs. I am very happy sec Mr. Right husband now. I do forgave former husband and his family. I faced to My former mom in law for forgave what matter started. She WONT forgave me less I pay her owe lot money. Till I pay her paid off then she will accept forgive me. It silly!! I had good reason enough divorced former husband since before we married it was wonderful relationship 2 yrs then after married FOOOOLLLIISSHHH ME OUT!!!
Thank God I am live today. I would die in 1996 in hospital. If I die then My former husband would go prison life time. My former husband was jail few times since i had bad abused.....

I am very happy peace new sec husband my whole life. My sec husband is very good humor and lovely a person. God blessed us new house and new a car etc. But We not perfect everything. We learn everyday till die. If I not file divorce with first former husband then I would die by abused. After that I had lot plm health of ruin abused. I accepted suffered through Jesus Christ. I am very happy live today. If I die then I would not join here alldeaf But Thank God everything wonderful my whole life. I not perfect a person and learn read Bible everyday. God bless you I read your threads EXCALTY!!! I dreamed Jesus carry on the cross and died on the cross... through how I saved Jesus Christ LLOONNGGG STORY!!!

Also, I spoke with my old pastor. He and I together prayed Lord for former husband for 6 yrs. God not approved me filed divorced with my former husband long times. Former husband never accepted me went faith church or leader song and etc. Finally! I cried out Lord, While, I prayed, I wanted file divorced former husband. I gasped that I heard Spirit Holy voice my ear. I saw cloud the heaven and beautiful gold design the gate opened. Holy Spirit voice to me "yes go freedom" I joy dance Lord. Lord approved me went to file divorced my first former husband. My old pastor approved it. I went to my lawyer office and filed divorced in May 8th 1996!!! It was 10 yrs ago now! I am very happy fly the bird FREEEDDOOMM!!!!!!WHOOOOOOOPPPPEEEEE!!!!!!!!

Mr. Right (or Mrs. Right) does not exist... never will.

Why are there more divorces now than before? It's because people are more aware of their legal rights and now know how to abuse them.

Before, people married... and decided to be traditional by staying together... no matter what.

Now, people marry... and then just get a divorce as an easy way out of solving problems.

I've seen people date for a few months, then get married a few months afterwards. Suddenly, they change and leads to the "for worse" part... then they decide to get a divorce.

That's why I'm very picky about who I want to marry. I rather be with a gal long enough to see her true colors. Then, I'll get married.
