Oh really? It's the crooked GOP's that wanted that montrosity to begin with (MOA)! There was nothing wrong with the Met Stadium or the Met Center, located across the parking lot from each other. We lost our professional hockey team, the Minnesota North Stars, which are now known as the Stars, in Texas, pardon, Taxes, of all places! WTF does Taxes know about hockey besides nothing? As if I actually cared to begin with. At least two businesses were torn down to make room for another GOP "pork barrel" runway for the Minneapolis airport. And, to add insult to injury, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the St. Paul Civic Center, now they're got an ugly building called "The Excel Energy Center." This is the dumbest pork barrel the GOP has had in Minnesota yet.

:fruit: Thats why I cant wait to move to where my man's families are.. (Wva)

and.. begone gone.. Minnesuckota :rifle: lol jk.. but I love Minn.. but alot changes and getting so weird.. creep me out..

LOL, you said it all .. And what about the Vikings who have been whining forever about the Dome? I'm sorry but I think the Dome is perfectly suitable -- we experience subzero temperatures from time to time, and I'm a Vikings fan and I do not relish the idea of going to a game freezing my arse off. Now they want to possibly build it in Blaine, and *I* live in Blaine. NO !!!!

EHHHHHHH I was in MINN for a day and saw camp snoopy i was like OMG and the creator of the snoopy character lived like 5 mins from my home in california before he died it was just an awestruck type of thing to have someone so popular yet so private too to ensure the snoopy name lived on wtf is going on! thank god redwood empire ice rink is still ard and won't change for yrs to come! its the true home of snoopy's place! Sorry to hear camp snoopy is gone but forever cherished in our minds :)

Take it up to America's lovely GOP interior designer Gale Norton.

I hate to disagree, but I like Excel Energy Center better than old Civic center because it is more bigger, more space, more clean, smells better, more accessible to disablities. They do keep Roy Wilkins Aud. next door. I agree about Texas and hockey.. none of high schools have hockey team in Texas.

AlleyCat,

I concur. There is nothing wrong with the Metro "Kerplop" (HHH). When the HHH MetroDome was built, there was an offer to have the roof be retractable (like Dallas'), both teams (Vikings and Twins) said, "No!" They acted like four-year old brats, complete with laying on their backs on the floor, kicking and screaming..."We want what other teams have!! Waaahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! :locked: :pissed: We don't want a retractable roof!!" The Vikings even turned down expanding the seating to 2,000 more to accomodate a SuperBowl (they already have, they even plowed all the snow away so there wouldn't be any nearby to give tourists the 'wrong' impression of the Twin Cities). Both these teams agreed to the MetroDome. :deal:

Just watch...when and if they get this new stadium, they'll close the roof on game days to "Keep the heat out...keep the rain and snow out...keep the cold out." I personally would like to sue them in order to keep the roof open and will disrupt games, whatever I have to do to enforce them to follow what they wanted to begin with.
