If you hadn't heard, TSA's new laptop bag rule went into effect today, so we're wondering: what sort of experience are you getting at the checkpoint? Like many TSA policies, they can take a few days to trickle down to the rank and file, plus your line compatriots could muck everything up by misunderstanding the fairly strict new guidelines for scanner-compatible bags, but hopefully somebody, somewhere is having a better flying experience this weekend.

Update: TSA's official guidelines are here, the cheat sheet is above.

It's not banned but if they have issue with scan then will be check so manually, let them look at your backpack with hand to check all of them.

i went thru by security and my laptop also thru and i did remove my bags thru by tsa make sure no bomb or anythings.

my bag is gray is huge for laptop bags i know tsa have pretty serious policy include laptop and purse, etc but NO knives or guns in tsa

When I was flying out of NZ last year. I had to remove my old laptop out of the laptop bag so they can screen it through x-ray.

It is a bit hassle to take out the laptop and putting it back in the bag after going through x-ray.

i have my northface backpack that design for laptop. I leave them alone and i told TSA that laptop and books is in my backpack but no weapons. they trust me with my words.

HOW? i showed my license and police dept ID card to prove with my ticket. They was like, oh ok. go in then. I walk like free dude.

That's interesting. I did bring my backpack and luggage bag in airplane. The TSA did check my both packpack and luggage. I am glad it's not banned. I really hate TSA Security check!
