The number of abortions performed in the United States is decreasing due to new technology as women can now "pop a pill" to terminate the pregnancy.

However--it is still a medical necessity to have abortion due to unforseen circumstances where the pill won't be able to terminate it.

So--pro-lifers--you should be happy that the number of abortions are decreasing--if not--then you have a serious emotional/mental health issue.

That is outrageous!
I don't believe in abortion. Period. Sorry!
Again, it's still outrageous! :mad2:

Dont believe it for yourselves but u cant impose that belief on others.

However, it is wrong of that doctor and it is a shame.

Makes me wonder why these women seek out unregulated abortion clinics? Fear of shame or of being judged by others?

That, and lack of availability of reputable clinics in their area. Financial concerns probably play into it as well.

And the reason that women still suffer at the hands of less than reputable doctors is a direct result of those who have attempted to force their views and their morals on an entire country.
That statement makes no sense at all.

1. Some women don't realize that clinics are unregulated.

2. How would going to a "unregulated" clinic be less shameful than a "regulated" clinic?

3. How would going to an "unregulated" clinic be judged less than a "regulated" one?

4. Most women don't even know whether or not a clinic is licensed or "regulated."

The Oct. 22 murder of Dr. Barnett Slepian in Buffalo, N.Y. is the latest in a series of violent acts against abortion providers.

Beginning in January 1998 with the bombing of a clinic in Birmingham, Ala., there has been a steady increase in severe violence against abortion clinics.

Slepian's death raised the number of abortion-related murders to seven in the past five years.

The Daily Bruin - Murder highlights abortion issues

As we were standing on the front sidewalk of the abortion clinic, about 9:30 a.m., on June 1, (Abortionist) Yogendra Shah hurried across the clinic’s parking lot in his lab coat and scrubs on his way to the emergency room of the Catholic hospital. As he crossed the lot, he glanced at me. As he walked, I asked "how many baby boys and baby girls are you going to murder today?" I then said to him, "One of these days, you’re going to slip up, Yogendra."

You can sue this clinic, and I encourage you to think about doing that." I asked her if there was anything else I could do for her; I told her that I would pray for her, thanked her, and told her to keep in touch.

Accused abortion clinic bomber Eric Rudolph sometime after pleading guilty in two federal courts on Wednesday to four bombings -- including a 1998 bombing at a Birmingham, Alabama, abortion clinic that killed a police officer and critically injured a nurse -- intends to release a written statement explaining the bombings, his defense attorney, Bill Bowen, said on Tuesday, the... AP/Las Vegas Sun reports (Reeves, AP/Las Vegas Sun, 4/13). Department of Justice officials on Friday announced that Rudolph, who was about to go on trial for the Birmingham bombing, also will plead guilty to the 1997 bombing of an Atlanta-area abortion clinic; the 1997 bombing of an Atlanta gay and lesbian nightclub, which injured five people; and the 1996 Olympic Park bombing, which killed one person and injured 111 others. As a result of his plea bargain, in which Rudolph also disclosed the location of 250 pounds of dynamite and a bomb more powerful than the one detonated at Olympic Park, he will receive four consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole.
Eric Rudolph Intends To Explain How, Why He Bombed Abortion Clinics, Olympic Park in Written Statement, Attorney Says

In years past, when pro-life advocates were opposed to having an abortion center in their town, they normally looked to protests, legislation or zoning board requirements to help them place restrictions on abortion centers or make it difficult for them to do business. Now they’re trying a more direct tactic — buying them.
Abortion business have been purchased in states such as Kansas, Florida, Tennessee and Nebraska.

In one of the first cases the Pro-Life Majority Coalition of Chattanooga outbid a Tennessee abortion business for the right to own a local facility that had long been the sole place in town where abortions were done.

The buying of the building forced the abortion center to close and the site now houses the National Memorial for the Unborn, a memorial for all of the babies who died at the abortion center over the years.

Just a few examples of why safe abortions have become more difficult to obtain, despite the fact that it is a legal medical procedure.

Oh man! Why dont they focus on their own lives and worry about themselves??

These people do not have lives of their own at all!

And they are trying to take away the rights of everyone else. Sometimes to the point of committing murder to make their point.

That, and lack of availability of reputable clinics in their area. Financial concerns probably play into it as well.
Um, the "unregulated" clinics charge for their services, too. Which ones take Medicaid and insurance?

Um, the "unregulated" clinics charge for their services, too. Which ones take Medicaid and insurance?

And the unregulated clinics are operating because there is a need for abortion. There is quite obviously a demand for the procedure. Those who campaign and use violence to close reputable clinics are as responsible for the proliferation of unregulated clinics as they would be for back street abortionists still doing the procedure if Roe v Wade were overturned.

Praise the Living God who intervenes on behalf of men. Aaron’s abortion Mill, which has been killing babies for over thirty years in Dallas, Texas, has now been turned to rubble. Many of you will remember that this was the mill located on the North beltway in Dallas (635). It was here, during our National Event in July of 2002, that over two hundred gentle Christian warriors entered the property and brother Bill Shanks with his full entourage, drove his giant RV right into Aaron’s parking lot. For two hours we sang the praises of Almighty God and brother Bill sounded the shofar. The abortion mill employees went apoplectic. The Dallas police were very helpful. We prayed that day, that Jesus would turn this monstrous place to dust. Today, we are experiencing the joy of God’s answer to that prayer.

The “gates of hell” cannot prevail against the Church of Jesus Christ!

Operation Rescue/Operation Save America

Local pastors, business leaders, crisis pregnancy center directors, and Christians will join Operation Save America for a press conference and a Memorial Service, mourning 36 years of unabated child-killing. Their purpose: to end child-killing in the city of Charlotte, North Carolina, by bringing the theology of the church house into the streets – right to the doors of the three local abortion mills in this city!

It has been 36 years since that day of infamy on January 22, 1973, when our Supreme Court unleashed the floodgates of hell and murder upon this nation. For 36 years the Church of Jesus Christ has sat silently by and tolerated a lie that is destroying our nation. We have said, “Abortion is wrong, but it is not my calling.” Today, over 50 million children are dead. NO MORE!

NO MORE, will we sit passively by while little children die. NO MORE, will we wait for the President, the Congress, the Supreme Court, or the Republican Party to save the lives of unborn children. NO MORE, will we peacefully coexist with child-killing in our city! WE ARE AT WAR!

“Abortion will come to an end in Charlotte, when the Church of Jesus Christ makes up her mind it will come to an end – not one second sooner,” said Rev Flip Benham, National Director of Operation Save America. “The responsibility for ending abortion in the city of Charlotte and in America rests squarely upon the shoulders of the Church of Jesus Christ.”

Rev. Hoye was arrested May 13, 2008, for allegedly violating an Oakland ordinance making it illegal to approach within eight feet of women entering abortion clinics without their consent. These charges were expanded to include two counts of "unlawful" approaches and two counts of using "force, threat of force, or physical obstruction" against two clinic escorts. Even though, in a July hearing, the two escorts admitted under cross-examination that Rev. Hoye had never done this, charges were not dropped and he went to trial January 12, 2009.

Abortion clinics are not well regulated.
Abortion clinic operator is charged in felonies by San Diego County D.A.

By Tony Perry
June 22, 2008

SAN DIEGO – A 48-year-old woman who ran an abortion clinic in Chula Vista was charged Friday with 10 felony counts of practicing medicine without a license and grand theft.

Bertha Pinedo Bugarin, who faces similar charges in Los Angeles, is accused of telling women that she was a doctor, performing abortions on them and prescribing drugs. One woman had to be rushed to a hospital with life-threatening complications, prosecutors said.

“This defendant preyed on women in the Hispanic community,” said San Diego County Dist. Atty. Bonnie Dumanis. “By passing herself off as a doctor, she put these women’s lives in serious danger.”

Dumanis said nine former patients from Bugarin’s Clinica Medica de la Mujer have identified Bugarin, including one woman who gave birth prematurely to a baby that lived for only three hours. Another patient paid $500 for an abortion but had to return for a second procedure when the first was not successful, prosecutors said.

Chula Vista Police Chief Rick Emerson, who led a yearlong investigation, said patients “were subjected to pain and risk of great bodily injury because of Bugarin’s lack of medical training.”

At one point, Bugarin ran six abortion clinics in Southern California, advertising them on Spanish-language television. If convicted on all counts, she faces more than nine years in prison, prosecutors said.

So the abortion workers lied, and made false accusations, resulting in an arrest. Nice.

Reputable?

Who regulates them?

No, if you will use the link to access the actual news reports, sans religious bias, of these incidents, you will see that the man actually violated several laws.

And the clinics are regulated by federal law and state medical boards.

Yep, and these less than reputable clinics would not be in business if the reputable ones were allowed to practice medicine in accordance with the law without the threat of being bombed, doctors being killed, and patients accosted. The demand is there for the procedure. This is just more evidence that when the right to lifers close clinics, women will go elsewhere to get the procedure that they are legally permitted to request.

What this doctor performed isn't the matter of good or poor performance. What that sick twisted man performed was an ILLEGAL and UNETHICAL procedure.

All abortions are Unethical. I'm glad this one was illigal and hope that he gets punished. Along with those that abort girls who've been molested without telling anyone about it.
