I had played on xbox 360 for around 3 hours and no overheat, also just warm.

I had noticed that disk is warm when get out from tray.

Congratulations, Pacman! I would expect discs to be warm. Most of the time when I play, I can feel the discs are warm. Keep your XBOX off the carpet, etc and keep it in well ventilated are, but I am sure you know all of that, Pacman. Now to get on XboxLive. I think you will get 1 month free Gold when you sign up first time. If you have a high speed connection, you're set. Send me a invite when you get on Live!

congrats man we should play some games via online soon. :P

They are coming out with a newer model of Xbox 360 that uses a smaller and cooler processor chip. :)

I am discarding this staement until a source/link is provided. I have checked your post date and the last time you visited AD.com. Yes, there have been rumors circulating about Microsoft redesgining the Xbox360. I am sure you understand why I am discarding your statement, since it is not backed up with a source. You're a S-Mod, anyone would expect you to know better. And, the way you smiled at the end hints at you making fun of Pacman. Till then, Doc

oh old news that last year. lol

Old news, what? Microsoft redesgined the Xbox360? I heard they had added a better fan and chip, and now all Xbox360's produced before 2006 can get replaced for free.
I have heard rumors that Microsoft will redesgin the Xbox360 to have the HD DVD drive built in, but I kind of find it doubtful, because I am certain Microsoft is enjoying the profits from selling the HDDVD Add-on.

Rumors are fake... They have no planning to redesgin, also HD-DVD would going be fail when BD is win then let MS to release BD add-on.

I have heard of rumors on this statement about redesigning the hardware, but the system would still pretty much be the same and when I mention redesign, I mean by updating the hardware to avoid such risks as overheating and screen freezing, etc...and I think MS has already improved the hardware by now after they discovered that many launch consoles has been put up to death with loads of errors cause it was roughly launched. Now that I got mine replaced, the discs were much cooler than my last console were even equipped with the intercooler.

no joke.

So, no I highly doubt MS would "redesign" the entire Xbox360 console by all means, the Xbox360 is still doing just fine these days with newer manufactured consoles.

Something tells me neither will win for a while, and both formats will be supported for a few years. I also don't think most of America is ready to jump to either HDDVD or BR.

me either I would think that orginal DVD would go on for a VERY long time lol

I highly doubt Microsoft would get an add-on BluRay player. Sony wouldn't let them.

Ugh... BD isn't OWNED by Sony, also it was owned by Blu-Ray Association.

MS has right to release BD add-on if they want, also that what Peter stated about it after HD-DVD is failed.

Oops, looks like Sony isn't the sole owner of Blu Ray. Blu-ray Disc Association - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is possible that Micorosoft would develop a BR add on, but seriously, do you think Microsoft is willing to admit defeat so soon? I think not.

Peter Moore? I'd love to see a link showing Pete saying that. I highly doubt Peter would say something like that, being a spokesperson for Microsoft.

Honestly, it's possible that HD-DVD will fail due limited capacity and not great as BD does.

Thanks to PS3 for sales of BD went skyrocketing and more film studio are prefer to make movies on BD, such as Disney, Sony, MGM, Warner Bros. and few other film studio.

I'll have to let y'all know that I'm not such a big fan of Sony these days, even though I got a Sony product (PS3, mainly for Blu-Ray playback). Dr. Strangelove, I've elaborated quite a bit on the Blu-Ray format in a particular thread here on Alldeaf.

The reason why HD-DVD is facing some barriers is due to the insufficient support from the entertainment industry. You see, it's quite crucial that the entertainment industry support a format in order to survive. The more support, the better. This is where Blu-Ray is at an advantage due to having a significantly stronger support. You see, HD-DVD at the moment is being supported by Universal (exclusive), Warner Bros, Paramount and New Line Cinema are supporting both formats. That's just 4 major studios while the Blu-Ray has the support of 6 major studios and 4 are exclusive (Sony, Fox, Buena Vista and Lionsgate.

People weren't too sure about the DVD format when it first came out. Though I knew it would fly off without a problem.

LaserDisc... well... not all formats will make the cut. It's too early to decide now. It always boil down to the consumers, but the consumers don't always make the best choices, y'all know that already anyway.

All I'm saying here is, it's not something to take personal. These are two new formats and they have been able to show what they're capable of, and they are nothing to scoff at that I'll tell you.

Remember, they're just discs... not abortions, gay marriages, capital punishments or anything to get all worked up over. :)

BluRay is taking off already?? This is very reminiscent of the PS2 and the DVD format. I recall very clearly that the DVD format wasn't really catching on until the PS2 came out, and a lot more people started getting into DVDs. This is pretty much Deja Vu with the PS3.

The BR disc is OBIVOUSLY superior in quality, but its price inferior. And from what Banjo is saying, it looks like HD DVD is backed into a corner by Blu Ray.
I will admit it is really weird right now, with both formats getting some movies, mostly exclusives.. What is weird is that Terminator 3 is on HD DVD, and Terminator 2 is on Blu Ray... Maybe I am wrong and they are available on both.. But that is what I noticed a few weeks ago in Best Buy's HD DVD/ BR section.

What's mean about taking off?
