Ex-Ohio teacher Stacy Schuler sentenced to four years in student sex case - Crimesider - CBS News

LEBANON, Ohio - A former Ohio high school teacher has been sentenced to four years in prison for having sex with teenage boys at her home. Thirty-three-year-old Stacy Schuler was convicted on Thursday of sexual battery.

The former teacher was accused of having sex in 2010 with five Mason High School students, some football players. Schuler resigned at Mason High School in February after her arrest earlier this year. She was a teacher and athletic trainer at the school since 2000 and had been on paid leave since Jan. 18 after an anonymous tip triggered the school's investigation.

Earlier this week, five former students testified they had sexual encounters with Schuler at her home in Springboro.

She had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Her lawyers argued she had medical and psychological issues and didn't remember the alleged incidents. They also said the students took advantage of her.

I heard that she will be out in less than 16 months, assuming she behaves herself in prison.

There is something clearly wrong with that woman.

This was definately not a case for the insanity plea. While disturbed, she does not meet the criteria for an insanity defense.

Unfortunately, prison isn't going to help her.

Depends. Ohio doesn't grant 2 for 1 routinely.
