Last night I spilled water on my keyboard and wiped up the mess and hoped it didn't ruin my keyboard. Well, my old keyboard is ruined.

I found a replacement easily enough. I'm still very pissed off at me for spilling water. Most of the latest keyboards are wireless nowadays. I'm not sure if I can install bluetooth into my Mac for the future but I'm currently looking into it.

I count myself lucky that I found a keyboard that I could plug in but I'll need a new hub system to plug in my scanner and my printer.

I'm very annoyed with me for spilling water on my keyboard and now I have a new rule for me: NO drinks near my keyboard! :P

hahaha I'm in the same boat as you are as I had spilled icetea on my keyboard a couple of times already, surprise that it's still working amazing....

Now I place my glass away from the computer.... :-/

I have been that rare .. pop oops spill on my keyboard so I had to quick to clean up inside of my keyboard before it sticky lol

He he, I really shouldn't eat at my Mac either as I have to shake crumbs out of my keyboard everyday. I guess spilling water was the last straw for it. It's a good thing my Mac isn't a laptop. LOL.

I had a real bad mess with my keyboard once, I spilt HI-C on it, and anyone thats ever had it, knows that its a very sticky and sugary drink. After I spilt it, it didnt ruin my keyboard, but it made everything very sticky and the keys stuck.

So I got the bright idea that, well if me spilling hi-c on it didnt hurt i will just take off all the keys and wipe it down and try to clean it. The HI-C didnt hurt it, but a tiny bit of water on a rag ruined it.

oops?

haha you're right about tiny bit of water on a rag ruined it, some of my keys are a bit sticky too, at least they're still working for now LOL....

It does happen with me after spilled few soda then wash the keyboard in water until dry and would work again.

once. I drop my Dell laptop on stair not down stair. Then it shut off by itself and it worked fine. But I feeling rumble in Dell laptop after I turn it on. I think something move in laptop. But I have Apple MacBook now.

I once spilled orange juice on my keyboard and the keys were sticky. The typing on the keyboard went like this: heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeello hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow...etc because the keys kept sticking down. I tried to remove the keys and clean it up, but ruined it. Got new keyboard and kept drinks away from the keyboard for a few years. Guess what...now I am back to keeping drink near keyboard, only this time it's coffee! LOL

I have had several closes with spilling my soft drinks and water on my keyboards. But, I tend to think quickly and kept that from causing any further damages. :)

I spilled water on my keyboard, but I cleaned it up and it still works fine. The keyboard I'm using right now is the same keyboard I've been using since September 2001. :)

He he I think I ruined my new TDD this way. I put a jar of water on it while ironing out clothes. Apparently I spilled water on it and now half the keys won't work on it.

I'm going to have to order a new one :P.
