SHARM EL-SHEIK, Egypt - Three car bombs exploded in quick succession in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheik early Saturday, ripping through a hotel and a coffeeshop packed with European and Egyptian tourists. The government said at least 62 people died in the deadliest attack in Egypt in nearly a decade.

The reception hall of the luxury Ghazala Gardens hotel collapsed into a pancaked pile of concrete, sending terrified guests fleeing for safety, according to an Associated Press reporter at the scene. Rescue workers hours later said they feared more victims may be buried in the rubble.

At least 62 people were killed, Health Minister Mohammed Awad Tag Eddin said. The interior minister earlier said 119 people were wounded and that at least eight foreigners were among the dead.

Interior Minister Habib al-Adli pinned the attack on Islamic militants. "This is an ugly act of terrorism," al-Adli said in a statement carried on the government news agency. "It has nothing to do with Islam, they are only acting under the slogan of Islam."
 
Well, Terrorist have their stupid religious belief that western must be destroyed.

Ravensteve, time has changed, the world has changed since the bombing of Japan, thus, more countries today have an array of nukes to deploy, only chaos would reign down on planet Earth if the choice was ordered to 'nuke' these countries...this would not be a good idea to pursue, let alone setting a tempo for other countries to follow suit by sending off their own arensal of nukes. Sooo, forget about it--not in the best interest for the world we live on! ;)
 
Roadrunner it wouldnt happen that way.If we used nukes on any arab nation all the world gonna do is make boycotts and stop trade deals with us. Russia,, china or any other country has nukes will not get involved what we do. All theyre gonna do is economic boycotts against us. I say So what? it would help jobs in the US and we wont by buying forgien products again.Like what the US is doing against cuba having an embargo against cuban cigars which hurts castros enconomy.

OMG...... this is what I would expect to hear from you. Have you ever been there and seen the museums and monuments portraying the devastation??

Have you seen the building nicknamed "The A Bomb Dome"?? This building was almost directly under where the bomb went off, and to this day they have left it as it appeared after the blast.

I dont understand how you can be so ignorant and close-minded about something, saying basically "it worked"..... :fu2:

I think RS meant that dropping the bombs on Japan successfully quickly ended the war with Japan without further massive casualties to the allied troops. That was the goal of President Truman, so in that sense "it worked" (succeeded).

I belive this will end al queda and terrorism. Cause arabs will think twice before joining an terrorist organizion cause theyre be thinking about their families like their brothers and sisters to worry about. Cause they will turn down terrorist recruts cause they dont want their parents or their brothers and sisters dead.

Terrorism is a different kind of battle. It doesn't have a limited geographical location. Nuking a particular country or region won't eliminate the enemy. The enemy is already infiltrated throughout the world. They don't care about their families, so that threat won't work on them.
 
Wanna bet? Once Bin laden is killed its over. Just like the assassination of caesar bought down the roman empire.
 
Oh well... there will be more bombings in the near future, here or there. Iraq war doesn't solve the problems and it will lead more violence & revenge. Due to the Iraq war, we will be fighting terrorists for a very long time.

Yeah but President Bush is not interesting to catch Osama bin Laden because bin Laden's brother-in-law worked with Bush for the oil business in Texas.

His name is Sheikh Khalid bin Mahfouz and he is Bush Financier. Mahfouz invested a lot of money into Bush's first oil company Arbusto Energy in 1980s. Bush not interest in catching Osama because of his business with the royal Saudi family. Bush doesn't want to admit that Saudi Arabia fund their money with terrorism and 80% of hijackers on 9/11 are from Saudi Arabia. Bush also trying to connect the Iraq or Saddam to 9/11. We know there is no link and we know there's no nuclear weapons in Iraq.
