Duke Nukem Forever

Well it is offical. 3D Realms has been shut down. The whole company gone. wasted. never coming back. (if there's ever a chance)

*shrugs* I have to say i'm not really surprised thou at the same time I am rather disappointed. I've been waiting years for the new DNF to come out so...like many said it will never happen and it will most likely be canceled so...I guess they are right. It is cancled and never see the light to DN fans.

Ah well...Duke Nukem can finally rest in peace then.

However, Take two interactive aka Rockstar games still owns the publishing rights to Duke Nukem so it may be a possiblity that they look for the developer team to catch up on the DNF title...who knows.

If they pick up on the Duke Nukem Forever project, we could be looking at another 10 years of waiting. :roll:

Who knows, they might get shut down in the process too. :shock:

Obviously the graphics from this game will be pretty similar to Prey. 3D Realms produced this game, thou while Human Head Studios did the PC version and Venom Games did the Xbox360 version and 2K games and 3D Realms together published it. Prey 2 is already in developement but you want to know what's odd? Prey has actually been almost as much delayed as DNF was.

Prey was first announced in 1995 by 3D realms. Wow sure was pretty long to wait for that one.

I never knew about Prey... Well i beat it around 2 years ago and great story. Yes, I am waiting for Duke Nukem since 90's. Blah.
 
Sad to see this project die after all that time...name is kinda ironic ;p. Someone else will probably pick it up though

Who knows...so far we know that Take two interactive still owns the publishing rights to DNF so...if they find a developer team for this project, it would probably take a very long while before we even see it coming out. bug fixes, controller configuration, the cost of copies to be made, etc...and so on.

Actually that really wouldnt be a bad idea...I mean when was there ever a shitty game made by Rockstar games? If Take two chose Rockstar to do that developing, I wouldnt worry anyway.
 
Take Two Interactive sued 3D realms for the delay of this title. Take Two paid 3D realms $12 million for the project which was delayed so many times for 12 years until all of a sudden they shut down the game, as well with the company and they are very furious that it was a waste for nothing that they paid them alot of money and they failed to deliver the game at all. Duke Nukem Forever was developed by a bunch of morons that dont know how to develop the game right. Look at other companies...it only took them mostly about 3 to 4 years of developing a game before delivered to the public...sometimes longer. But a game MUCH longer than 10 years? Seriously, who would really release a game after being in development so long? It only took Nintendo 5 years (or so) to developing The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for GameCube/Wii...and it was already out.

Hideo Kojima, known as the acclaimed videogame genius behind Metal Gear Solid series, has finally released 4 MGS games...and they are already working on the 5th title.

Sony has released 3 Playstation consoles plus their first portable videogame system the PSP.

It took Rockstar (who is part of Take Two Interactive) a very long while to developing GTAIV and they finally got that out too...as they did many numbers of other GTA games in the past.

There are ALOT of successful companies who can get their jobs done right with videogames...expect that 3D realms is seriously one dumbfuck company I've EVER seen.

Oh well...they had it coming. Take Two Interactive may most likely take that unfinished game to a different development company someday...who knows.

Here's some even WORSE news...

3D realms isnt REALLY dead...it's still alive and well, but the company has gotten much smaller than before, obviously.

They are fighting back against Take Two interactive to keep their rights on developing the game. *groans* Another 12 years to go...nice going 3D realms! :roll:

3Drealms are a bunch of crocks. They are blaming Take Two that they didnt get the chance to have it released when in fact they paid them MILLIONS for the programmers, graphic artists, animators, EVERYONE to produce and finish the game. They paid them actually 9 years ago then again sometime in last year but for some reason they sunk in almost all the money so fast I even wonder what they even do with the money they gave them? *scoffs* No excuse to them...the game've been in development for 12 FUCKING YEARS and they are taking the blame against Take Two Interactive who in fact is a MUCH larger company with the GTA series, Bioshock, (2K games is part of TakeTwo Interactive) and many more.

TakeTwo will seriously kick their ass bad. real bad.

Sorry 3Drealms nice try. You arent getting my pity at all.

There are always better FPS games than this...already looking forward to Bioshock 2 and Halo : Reach. :)
