Drunk moose gets stuck in tree

A drunk moose desperate for juice became stuck in a tree as it tried to reach for alcoholic apples in Sweden.

The moose, which was severely intoxicated after gorging on the fermented fruit, became tangled in branches in a garden on Wednesday.

The fire brigade was called and had to bend the branches so the exhausted moose could slide out.

"My neighbour recognised it as the animal that almost ran into her car earlier in the day. She was pretty sure the moose was already under the influence," home owner Per Johansson said.

This is most interesting to me as I thought Moose were American animals.
 
An American wouldn't stand in front of a moose struggling to its feet. :giggle:
 
Poor moose, at least good thing the moose is okay in the end. :lol:
 
We have alcoholic apples in our yard and boy they smell bad!! I wonder if the squirrels are getting drunk eating the apples!
 
I remember seeing a video of a bunch of animals getting drunk after eating fermented fruits from a tree in Africa or something. :)

Wrong.

Finland, Norway and Sweden has the highest population density of moose. Russia has the highest population of moose in the world.

Same for wolves and brown bears in Russia. Our subspecies of the brown bear is called the grizzly.
 
In Finland, they call them hirvi. Swedish call them alg, and Norwegians call them elg. The British call them elk.

Now you see why I call the American Elk the wapiti.

I'm confused. In US elk are more like deer, aren't they? Of have I been calling mule deer elk? No moose down here. Meese? Auto correct tells no. ;-(

When our ancestors came over, they thought the wapiti were the same as the moose, so they called them elks. But the wapiti we have here are more closely related to the red deer of Europe.

Mule deer is another name for black-tailed deer, which is a close relative of the white-tailed deer or better known as the Virginia deer in the States.

Moose is both plural and singular.
 
I looked at a photo of wapiti and that's what I always called an elk. I never heard that Cree name before. Learned something new!

We don't have black-tailed deer here, only white-tailed deer. I've never seen a black-tailed deer in real life. They're pretty animals.
