Portugal Decriminalized All Drugs Eleven Years Ago And The Results Are Staggering | Business Insider

I always knew this, and believed this would work, it has been proven it does, as in Portugal. This is fascinating, as in my eyes, it's about 'prohibition' is actually counter-productive, aw it create curiosity to which those in belief these are escape to the grips of crushing authority.


Will is work in other places, yes, no or depends?

Portugal doesn't have Americas plms. What works in one country and culture doesn't exactly translate to it working in another culture or country. I do agree prohibition has to go.
 
After we put in a death sentence for meth crack smack dealers and then whack a bunch of them by feeding them to sharks in a horrifying and real display on worldwide television that nauseates our nation and sends the most powerful message that can be sent that we are serious.

Then legalize. Eventually the sharks will no longer have a job and we will can feed them an even lower class of scum corrupt bankers and if they do not get poisoned and die, slowly feed them corrupt lawyers, politicians, lobbyists and business tycoons.
 
Perhaps IMO recreational drug use was unchallenged at one time, so why is the modern world enacting anti-drug policies? If we legalize drugs, it would seem we're bound to repeat history. Hasn't humanity learned anything the first time? :roll:

They didn't legalize it, they decriminalized it. Meaning it's still against the law, but it goes through a different court system that sends them to rehab instead if jail. They treat it as a disease rather than a crime.

that's correct...i'd have to watch myself using the word legalise...but yes legalise is more extreme
 
Drugs covers a wide range. If we are to get more specific and treat as a case by case situation it makes more sense. I look at the destructive nature of meth compared to marijuana and they are not the same. If they are not the same why treat them the same?

As the arguments stand baby aspirin is the gateway drug.
