dog kills 2 week old baby

A chow dog? I think the dog is not very good with children because that's kind of dog. Also, the parents should not leave the dog alone with their baby unattended. I am so sorry to hear about their baby's loss. My thoughts and prayers are with them. :(

oh jeez NEVER leave a baby unattended with any dogs no matter
but i am sorry for the baby shrugs

Even thou I love dogs, but you will NEVER know what would happen when you leave the child alone in the same room with ANY animals. So...she shouldnt leave the child alone even for a mintue at home.

It really sucks for the baby and the dog thou. May she R.I.P. :(

Never, never, never leave a baby in the same room alone with a dog. Never, no matter what kind of breed it is.

Chows can be good family pets if trained properly, but some aren't.

Yeah...it questions me as to wondering WHY the chow dog attacked and killed the two weeks old baby..who was harmless and helpless?

I guess the dog wasnt familiar with the baby or something I dunno...either way the dog was stupid for doing that as well as it was stupid for the mother leaving the baby alone in the same room with a dog...should've known that ANY dogs can kill anyone so...yeah. sucks.

:shock::jaw: OMG! Oh man! It's soo awful to let a dog alone to hurt the baby! The babies are very required to be with someone because the babies are VERY FRAGILE. What a HORRIBLE tragedy!

The article didn't write much so I search for full one...

Actually, the cats kill babies too.

We already have 7 years old cat Sussi as we has a first child that's time. I make sure that my baby won't be alone with her. My both boys grow up with Sussi and get on pretty good... Sussi is soon to be 23 years old and my both sons are soon to be 16 and 13 years old now.

Yeah I've heard that cats can be pretty dangerous around babies...depending on the situation of course...never leave a baby alone with a cat either.

Very sad. Never leave the baby unattended.

I feel terrible for the child and the parents, but unfortunately they had to learn the hard way not to leave a child unattended with a pet no matter how 'friendly' or trained your pet is. Animals don't reason, they rely solely on instinct. If the animal feels the infant is a threat then they will react instinctively to that.

Although I had a top-notch friendly Labrador Retriever, I never allowed my daughter to be left alone with him simply because he was twice her size and although he may have meant no harm, he could have injured her whilst playing.

I would strongly recommend that if you have an infant, make sure to have a proper introduction - this means this will require at least two people. One person to remove the baby and another to restrain and remove the dog. If there is a hostile introduction, correct and remove the dog from the room and confine the dog immediately to a separate room or kennel, until the dog calms down. This is the opportune time to establish the child as part of the pack leadership and to remind the dog he is still the follower and not the leader, and hostility toward the new baby will be swiftly punished and he will be immediately removed from the pack and confined alone. NEVER NEVER NEVER leave the child unattended with the dog. If after a length of time and the dog still acts hostile and aggressive to the new baby - you may have to give up your dog to a home without children.
