Does anyone here can't swallow pills?

I am one of them because I have bad experience with pills.. I choked them a few times so I am scared to swallow pills. So I use the cruncher and put the pills in applesauce and take it prescribed pills. For pain reliever..I take liquid Tyneol regular one and Tyneol PM.

I hope I am not the only one here!
 
ouch..that must be difficult for you...sorry about that...I have to take medicine everyday...its not too big pill to take...its about size medium...

Can you take it half? or can you tell your doctor to give you smaller pills? Hope it works out for you...
 
No, it just scares me if i swallow it in wrong tube then I can't get it out in time.. :ugh:

as same my daughter doesn't like too big capuse and prefer cut'em half.. it's worked..

You can cut half of it instead crushed into the pieces as dust...

I am one of them too. I am having trouble to try to swallow it capuse. I was require to take smaller medicines because i have trouble with my throat. My first ex hubby damaged my throat and after my first divorce and my dr told me to require to take small medicines. I am having difficult times to swallow Advile when I was on pms before i became being preg. this yr.
 
I am one of them too :) .. few years ago cant remember what year that I have trouble with the pills swallow and few time got almost choke me but I keep drink water till pills goes down. One time I saw and I was oh YIKES!! big pills?? cant sallow it so my mom cut in half and fine. but I am still trouble with it when I took tyeonal pills when my back pain :)
 
Good news for you.. they do have Adult Liquid Tyneol for people like us who can't swallow them. They have it for regular, rapid, Tyneol PM, and ones for cold and flu.. I have them hehe. :)

yeah .. I just put pills in my tounge and take water to fill it in my mouth till full in my mouth then swallow it work for me and sometime doesnt work lol :lol:

but I have so TINY!!!! pills that I have no plm with it :lol:
 
I can't take tiny pills.. I am trying to overcome my fears of taking pills because it has been a bad experience for me. :(

oh really??? wow interesting to me :)

I had underactive Thyoird that dont have any liquid meds I think but only pills that it :)

yeah rest of my life since March 2002 :) .. no fun but little tiny pills are fine with me .. if BIG pills forget it lol :D
 
LoL I hate big pills.. I do take vitiams too but they have chewable orange flavor ones yay.. and if I have meds for big pills.. I have a cruncher for that.. you can buy it from CVS or any other stores.. they also have the thing that allows you to cut in half also for the pills.

Did you know that they got pills for you to swallow to check on your stomach to make sure you are allright? If dr asks me to do that.. I would be freaked out! :ugh:

As a veteran of years of pill popping my advice is make sure the pill does not stick to your tongue or gums or back of throat or anywhere in the mouth.
take a pill and take as much water as you need to flush it down and make sure the pill is somewhere at the back at your throat (not sticking) and if needed tilt the head back a little. Swallow.
That should do the trick even with a horse sized pills :)

Just keep your cool, in the beginning try to 'locate' the pill before you attempt to swallow. If you keep your cool you can actually tell where the pill is. it should float freely in the water at the back of your throat. If you can detect it in the middle of your tongue try to move it (with closed mouth) back.

Its a skill that is actually learned, and as you know it's never to late to learn :)

is it for like stomache X-ray or something? if yes then probably it is more likely a liquid- a white paste tasting like chalk.. or minty chalk :)

I remember when I was young, I had a really hard time to swallow those medicines no matter what if it is too big or small medicine. My mom forced me to drink a lot of water with the medicines when I tried to swallow it, it worked then after it happened...I didn't have any problems.
 
Ah really? But I am afraid though. it's never easy to overcome that fear due to my experience. :(
