My boyfriend's dogs don't move when there's a car coming. Just wondered if all pets are like this, or just some stupid dogs in particular lol. They're such lovable labradors, and the father and mother are both black yet they had a white dog. A bit dopey and stupid but funny and lovable.

I know rabbits tend to jump back and forth across a road because I've seen it... and some animals are too slow to avoid cars but the ones that aren't do move out of the way with the exception of the dogs we have. There's another dog we have but it moves out of the way as soon as it sees it approaching.

It's probably because these animals don't realize the dangers of moving vehicles. It's also probably because animals are scared and are eye-to-eye with a moving vehicle. :dunno:

Well, it really depending on the animal itself, if the owner trained their pet about being on the road then the pet would move out of the way, but mostly cats would run if the car is coming toward to it but some cats just not too lucky...

Most animals will run when they hear a loud engine -- but some freeze right in the spot and don't move. Some cats sometimes turn around and run back the same way they were moving away from -- thus ending up getting hit or causing an accident.
