....I'm just wondering because I recently got one to use, just for text messaging. I can send and receive IM's from AOL, as long as the AOL member sends first...I can get messages from MSN but I can't seem to send back...but of course, my favorite is the cell-to-cell connection.

And yes, that's me in the store room of Toys R Us with the cell phone in hand...always going back and forth with another cell buddy :)

Anyway, was wondering how many of us have cell phones? It sure has helped me out in emergencies...

I have a few friends who have cell phones. They have the kind that opens up into a mini-keyboard with the monitor in the middle (which is on top when it's closed). Don't forget, those sidekicks are also doubled as cell phones as well. I have interpreters who have Sidekick pagers so they can communicate with the deaf students and faculty/staff on campus while also being able to make cell phone calls.
 
I use a nokia cellphone for SMS. it works well for me. :)
 
I don't own any cellphone because I can't hear anything at all...
 
My sister-in-law is hearing married to my 2 year older deaf brother... She have sidekick cuz it has everything she need cuz she runs her own business communicate with hearing and deafies so it's all in one sidekick and she love it...
 
I have mine, with a flip on keyboard for text messaging and e-mail.

you can use cellphone just think it as telephone as home.. The only you need is portable TTY that made for TTY complatible.

You buy telephone service for home, you get TTY for home

you buy cellphone service for anywhere, you get small TTY for anywhere.

Me have Sony cell phone and portable TTY. It save my butts when I had car down at nowhere on the road.
It also save my butt when I call my hearing friend where or how can I get there in the bigger building. Live communication beat e-mail and text message.

I use a Nokia mobile phone as well. ;) (it's called mobile phones in Australia) It works perfectly well for usage for SMS and can get onto the internet (WAP).
Sister has sidekick in USA. We can send each others SMS's -- so it's pretty reliable.

Ja, we do call those mobile phones in Norway also. ;)

When you are in USA, does your mob work? Mine doesnt...

No Thanks....I have a tty with phone already on it.....for hearing/deaf can use it....
 
I will get cell phone.. which reasons... in case travelling.. so i can let my eldest son can use cell phone for contact emergency and also whatever if he wants contact me via email or msn me.
One day, I will get sidekick soon but to find reasonable for unlimited than hours pay.. plus pay text. I'll like buy sidekick in usa and connect to Bell Canada company and wait and see find it out. I'm still working on researching about this. :)
 
Sure came in handy when I blew out two tires on a pothole. I had my cell phone with me and called my hubby. Otherwise, I'm not sure what I would have done!!!

I just got myself a sidekick and i use this also all three, e mail, AIM, and Cell( javapride here borrowing TB's nick for a min) Waterrats U might wanna YM me SOON! :)
 
I don't have any gadgets right now. I will get a pager this year.
