Do you Think a Condo Association has the Rights to Throw Away Clothes Left In Washing

tables? laundry baskets? if circumstances stopped me from returning on time to get my clothes out of the laundry when cycles ended and I learned you threw my clothes in the trash or sold them off, believe me, you would have wished you didn't. That would be a bonafide asshole thing to do. That's not your place to do if you are not the owner of the laundromat.
You aren't thinking. Tables are used for folding by other people. Baskets? Like I'm supposed to know which baskets are theirs. If you meant those carts in laundromats - nope, people need to use them.

Almost every single owner of the clothes I dumped to floor knew it was me. I made it clear. I tell them don't do it again. They say no word back. You wouldn't either.

Oh yes i would. Hahaha...believe me, I would.

Heh. There are reasons why people had to leave the laundromat or why they were late picking up their loads. To throw away clothes is extreme especially since this washer/dryer belongs to a company that makes a profit from the condo building. Not exactly a good way to get repeat business if you're pissing off the customers.

Who knows Google...maybe one day you will find yourself in the same situation wherein you couldn't be there just when the cycle ends and learned someone threw your clothes in the trash. I have a feeling you're not going to just shrug and say oh well, that's my fault. I'll just go out and spend way more money buying new clothes. In fact, I know you'll be mad.

Are you young by any chance?

I spoke to one my neighbor about this today and she did not either notice that something was posted on the wall! The note is in a place where people are not going to look! And my neighbor left her clothes in the dryer overnight as she had a toe removed and it hard to made a lot trips to the basement! And if someone has short term memory having your clothes throw away it not going to cure you! The basement is hotter than upstairs so there is no way anyone could sit down there!

If you dont like the policy take it up with the manager or find others in your building that dont like it either, and fight him on it...and make a petition or something. Look through the laws in the city and paper work that you have to see if you can find a flaw somewhere and be able to take it to court.
Otherwise, complaining isnt going to change it.

how do you feel about people leaving their clothes in dryer or washing machine for a long time?

real jerk, right?

If this happen I would ask the person to take their clothes out! And I have asked people to do this and they did not mind! There are only for units in each building, and most of the time someone is not home, so it really easy to know who clothes they are. It not like we have 20 people waiting in line to do a wash! I think if a person was thinking of buying a condo here and they did see the note in the basement they would have second thoughts
about moving here! It sure does NOT make it look a very friendly place to live!

It is not our responsibility to track down owners of clothes. How do we know who owns the clothes? How do we know where the owner lives? etc etc We have memory problems.

But you can remember who owns the clothes? You forget about your clothes? Something is not adding up here. Wait, I know why. You're just a cry baby.

TAKE YOUR CLOTHES OUT! NOT HARD!

Oh yes i would. Hahaha...believe me, I would.

Can I watch?

On a semi-related subject, my old apartments had two washers and two dryers for the entire building. Someone left their laundry in one of the dryers for 2 days straight. I wouldn't have donated their clothes or thrown them away. I was mostly just thinking "You know what would be fun? Bonfire!"

TAKE YOUR CLOTHES OUT! NOT HARD!

Holy fuckballs that is some large text. Why so worked up?

so you're gonna go upstair again and knock on door to ask them to remove their clothes?

solution - hire a person to do your laundry.

The solution would be to have a 3-bin hamper and toss any clothes from the washing machine into a bin. Then if no one come to claim it after a day, just discard them into the trash.

Why don't you buy your own washing machine and dryer so you would not complain about the condo association's decision?

it's against regulation.

When I was living in J-ville in the apartments. My biggest pet peeve is people leaving their laundry in the washer or drier. I take them out and put them aside on a table. I have found sour nasty clothes that have been left for days in the washer. I take them and throw them on the floor. I do not waste my time waiting around for people that do not get their clothes at a timely manner. I have other things to do as well. Like others. I sweat my ass off in those little laundry rooms to attend to my clothes. I do not leave them behind.

So KUDOS to the Apartment managers!!!

Oh, I'm not worked up. The person is just dense. I thought making font bigger and bold would catch his attention and realize something.

He clearly does not have a memory problem if he can memorize which underwear belongs to who. He can clearly remember he has laundry to do and will return. He's just lazy.

I would never even think of leaving the laundomat till my clothes were done! I'd do what you did.

I am not talking about a laundromat! If you use the front loader washing machine they can't be open until it stopped , and if the laundromat is near a store you have time to do a quick shopping trip!

We have people that are in their 80's and older , they could have a medical emergency at anytime , what if had a medical emergency while doing a load of washing? One guy fall downstairs when he was going to get his clothes, I am glad we did not have insane rule then! The condo is not taking into consideration who live here!

That's the problem with some associations, they are more considerate of some than the others. However, like I said, I think a hamper with several bins would be the solution to this kind of situation. This way, people won't have to worry so much.

Majority of the elderlies stay with their clothes...

Most of the clothes I have seen left in the washing machines are by young adults.

Also... if someone had an emergency.. the whole Complex would know about it. I am sure one of the neighbors would get the clothes or something for the person.

Buy a washing machine and dryer combo and hook it up in your condo and call it a day.

Now if I could this , I would not had put up this thread! And I have no where to hook up a washing machine, I called a plumber about this! I was going to have my dish washer taken out and put a washing machine, but I was told it would not work! And I never know a plumber to say no to making money!!
