Do you ever get made fun of because you have pale skin?

Good.
There's no denying that Affirmative Action helped women immeasurably in the workforce, mind you.

Th population that benefitted the most was the middle class Caucasion woman. Steinhauer is probably receiving benefit of that as well, everytime his wife brings a paycheck home. And he doesn't realize that, either.:P

Of course they are. That is not the same as saying that Affirmative Action was unnecessary in its time.

Discrimination in any form is discrimination. You cannot justfy it's existence in one direction by pointing a finger and saying, "He does it too!"

I'm blindly white I always get comments from people when I'm wearing dress, tank top, swim suit or short "oh my god you're SO pale!", "Oh whoa, I hope you have sunblock on!", "are you irish?", "I'm blind!", "get a tan jeez" million other comments. it get old after while lol people say its unusual to see someone as pale as I am and I tried to get tan for 2 summers and I freckles and burns with no tan at all lol so I stopped and protect my skin with 50 or higher spf all time in summer.

Being Scananavian and strawberry blonde I have very fair skin. I find I burn less as the years go by, but I'm still careful. Use sunscreen when we are out in the jeep.

No. It's an inconvenient sometimes, like when I need to protect myself from sun exposure. In the U.S. there's no real downside to being very white. Some individuals don't like pale skin but that's not the same as being discriminated against in a racist social structure.

Nah. I did when I was little, but only because of the freckles on the fish belly white skin under the red hair, with buck teeth and knock knees and pigeon toes. Sounds cute eh?
No one else in my family has freckles, cousins, aunts or uncles. So fair game!

Wow, such rude people!

Answer them, "Really? I never realized I was pale skinned. Thank you soooo much for pointing that out to me." Include

Im so pale people have asked me if I was sick.

Wow, I didnt realize that having pale skin brought all these kinds of comments from other people.

I have olive skin for someone who is supposely Cacusan. It came from that itty bitty 1/8 Native American in me. I am supposed to be pale because my mom is but my DNA decided not to.

I always get comments from people about how lucky I am to tan so easily and all that. I dont know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

I am always have my pale tan skin, and I tend to have my dark rings on my eyes since I was 13. I don't get so many insults for my paleness...

Don't listen to the fools who tell you to tan.
Pale skin is beautiful! I have very pale skin, wear sun screen and do take care of it. As a result I look much younger than I am. You will too if you don't tan and love the skin you have.

Stay pale! You will thank yourself when you're in your 40s and look 20 something :)

40's? I met some walking prunes in their 60's and up. Wrinkles on men give them character while they make the women "ugly."

I was very pale skinned with blonde/blue...instead of tanning I burned up....but when I moved to the Beach for 5 years, I became very, very tanned and loved it...

However, with 2 episodes of skin cancer on my arm...I avoid the sun now as much as possible. If you want to looked tanned, why not try the Sunless Tanning Lotion, there are a number of good ones on the market. Also some makeup a little darker than ur natural skin color. Otherwise, use sun block, it's a wise decision.

One of my terps had coloring quite similar to you and she had a bout of skin cancer at age 35 and now she warns people to stay out of the sun. I'm quite pale and I like it that way. I've never had anyone make fun of me for being pale so I'm a bit surprised at the OP's post.

My little sister used tan a lot while she was younger and she looks older than me. She's blond but with hazel eyes.
