as i was watching my yellow Angel Fish, Sunny, in his tank i thought....does he drink? it would be so easy for him i mean all he'd have to do is open his mouth.

then that made me think....do alligators drink? what about Frogs? and Whales?

Flies only live like what...one day? do they even have time to drink?

and no people im not talking about drinking some Jack Daniels, im just talkin about water.

hmm...I have no clue, I know fishes open their mouth when they're in water to breathe, but drinking the water from the tank every day, might be half of water in the tank by now.... :dunno:

Miss*Pinocchio, I don't think AJ will serve his little fishy a glass of beer....

I think they probably take in a small gulp of water once in a long while while eating some of the food. They're in water all the time, so why do they need to drink? Water keeps them hydrated and wet so they don't have anything to worry about.

Yep, Seq is correct!

Fish do drink water, all animals do in order to survive. But, with fishes they need oxygen from water in order to breathe, same for other water animals.

Since fish are surrounded by water, they don't take "drinks" they simply have the water always passing through them. Their body will absorb water as needed. It's like those patches that you put on your skin for smoking or birth control that releases medicine into your body just by wearing it.

Thats a trivia question in science! I assume you have a freshwater fish...they don't drink water just absorb water through their skins and gills. On the other hand the saltwater fish DO drink water their gills process the water to take out the salt! Salmon is interesting because can live in both fresh and salt waters because they come from freshwater I mean they were born in freshwater then migrate to the ocean and do similar process as many other saltwater fish. There's numerous spieces of fish out there! Wow.

cool, kind of like how some sharks breathe, they absorb the oxygen through their skin.
