Hi All!

I am a product designer from the UK and am currently concentrating on developing a musical instrument from which the deaf and HoH can compose on, as well as the hearing.

At the moment I am doing some research as to whether the deaf community would even want something like this as well as trying to gain a better understanding of how the deaf community interact and experience music. In particular what parts of the body are more sensitive to picking up vibrations

I understand that vibrations from speakers can be felt through the feet.

Any information, feedback, volunteers who I can keep in contact with would be extremely appreciated!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!

It would be nice if an instrument would be designed so that a deaf person like me would hear a turbocharged car make VROOM sound.

Oh, I have this really neat idea you could use... I'm calling it a P.I.A.N.O.

Prinicipale

I asked Beethoven to compose a few songs on it. Maybe you've heard of them?

I have played the percussion for about 9 years, and I feel the vibrations mostly through my feet. I'm hoping for the instruments, it would be a little bit sensitive--like feeling the vibrations a little bit more because it's hard to feel the vibrations through your shoes. and I'm more visual when it comes to playing music. My CI's doesn't really help me much with the music, and I learned not to depend on my CI very often because it would be useless sometimes when it comes to something like music. So Maybe something visual would help and more sensitivity?
