Also I don't think WDYS use ASL - she just depends on lip reading.

I remember about she whined that interpreters who are men have beard, so I told her - that's ASL interpreter, not lip reading service.

Why would she complain about interpreters having beard if she does not know ASL?

Some do; she probably relied a lot more on lipreading than signing so of course the facial hair is bothersome- for her. She did take classes but then stopped because "she has nobody to talk to in ASL" (likely not actively seeking out events etc).
