Hi! Is anyone used to be Deaf Olympics players or anyone is currently players for the Deaf Olympics?? What is your best / bad memories about your Deaf Olympics?

I used to be on the deaf women volleyball team for 1997. We went to Denmark and won Bronze in women volleyball. My best memories were went to Denmark since it was my first time to go to different country and enjoying hang out with all players to have FUN and also play for FUN and competition. Bad memory was that I went to RIT for 2nd tryout for 2001 team in July 1998 and found out that they were not having volleyball tryout so I went there for NOTHING and the staff told me that they send me email and I told them that I never received the email and I made them to find the email to proof and THEY NEVER FOUND ONE so they had to pay my flight which was $500 round-trip!! They moved the tryouts to Gallaudet later that summer 1998, so I could not go there since I already had committed to my work and college. I decided to not to try again for Deaf Olympics because their STAFF and COACHES are not that GREAT since they have not give me their information on update on tryout and training. I had been emailing to them and they never email me back at all. It's sad about that!! I HOPE that others don't have SAME experience as I did. GOOD LUCK to everyone who is trying out for the sports for Deaf Olympics or whoever is already on the team!!

Oh I would love the opportunity to play for all deaf baseball olympic team, that would be rad. When I played in college it became quite difficult and I subsequently only played 2 years. I would also be able to be on deaf olympics bowling team. (I have had the pleasure of bowling in 2 PBA tournaments a few years ago while I was a junior bowler)

I know only of two Deaf people that went to the Deaf Olympics in the late 1980's and early 1990's - I think both were country and cross.
