In this thread which was locked, both Taylor and I directed some rather pejorative comments towards a new member who was advertising a Web site named dating4disabled.com. We both suggested that this member go peddle their spam elsewhere, and my tone was downright insulting. Upon closer inspection though, I realized that the service that this person was advertising is completely free. So, with my foot firmly entrenched in my mouth, I humbly apologize to the poster. I also think the thread should be reopened, although I don’t think there’s any real interest here for this type of service.

I'm a member of that site and that's a good place if you want to meet new disabled people. I did meet a new friend there but she stopped talking to me without any explanation and I don't know why

Thank you for apologizing, but I don't think it was really THAT necessary. This person was being annoying about advertising the site. I think posting it ONCE in the marriage and dating forum would have sufficed. As it was, I think I saw this site promoted in The Closet and a few other places as well. It was starting to get redundant.

Very true, I hadn’t thought of that. Even though the service being offered is free, it’s still spam if you plaster it all over the place. Also, it’s extremely unlikely that this poster wants to be a contributing member of AllDeaf. He or she most likely joined for the sole purpose of advertising their Web site.
