Barry Bonds now officially all time home run leader. 756 Sorry Hank :|
 
I didnt see it, my friends told me abt it, damn it!
 
I was wathcing that game last night.. had to go to bed as I felt so tired...grr missed the 756th HR hit... I saw via sports show today and see the entire hr being hit.. now who knows how long Bary can hold that record till A-Rod come alongs and smashes it? A-Rod do have a good chance of hitting a lot of hrs as well...
 
Yeah I watched it Live. I remembered Mark McGwire breaking season HR record it was exciting time and everyone there was exciting. But watching Barry Bonds breaking HR record I was expecting them to be more exciting than Mark McGwire. But it seem like HR record is nothing to them. It was cool to see Hank Aarons congratultion to Barry Bonds via big screen yesterday. I love watching players break records.

Next guy to break Bonds' HR record could be Alex Rod... then Pujols breaking Alex Rod's record in the future.
 
Its hard to forsee longevity and good health for 10 years though. Anything can happen. Not that I wouldn't want Pujols or A Rod to break the HR record, I surely would, but it would be feat in and of itself if both stayed healthy enough for the rest of their careers to contend for it.
 
Plus I'm sure Bonds will go to American league and DH for a couple years after this season. Even if time catches up with him and he starts to fizzle out, he'll probably finish around 800 HRs.

800 HRs? A Rod wouldnt be able to catch up since he's not big as Bonds and plus MLB does not allow players use Steroids anymore which Bonds might had took advantaged into using it before MLB disallowed it. Big Guys can hit HRs in old ages. Pujols is big man and he can do it. I believe Pujols will be the new HR King in 15 years.
 
Regardless of the controversy surrounding Bond, whether such facts are true or not, my hat's off to Bond for surpassing the HR (Home Run) record. :applause:

I do recall vividly the day that Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth's HR record and then finishing his baseball career with 755 HRs. Right now, the person best to surpass Bond is A-Rod, at this point, A-Rod is well ahead of the pace compared to what Bond was at. Bond's knees may bring his baseball career to an end in the near future, my guess is that Bond may go for 800 HRs and hang up the 'bat' for good. ;)

It's true, there are many other good and reasonable ball players who stand a great chance of breaking Bond's record...whether in a couple years or a decade later...records are made, records are broken and fans alike from all over will make it all the worthwhile!! ;)

Pacing season by season Homeruns to catch up Bonds (Alex Rod and Albert Pujols)......

Alex Rodriguez 32 yrs old - 14 seasons from 1994 to now (0, 5, 36, 23, 42, 42, 41, 52, 57, 47, 36, 48, 35, & currently 36) Avg 35.71 HRs a season. Alex has 11 years left to be Bonds age. Imagine his Avg seasons (his 1st 14 seasons 500 HRs + 11 remaining seasons 392.81 HRs = 892.81 HRs overall)

Albert Pujols 27 yrs old - 7 seasons from 2001 to now (37, 34, 43, 46, 41, 49, & currently 24) Avg 39.14 HRs a season. Albert has 16 years left to be Bonds age. Imagine his Avg seasons (his 1st 7 seasons 274 HRs + 16 remaining seasons 626.24 HRs = 900.24 HRs overall)

Remember I said big men still hit HRs at old ages Albert is big man and Alex isn't.
 
I take back what I said about Albert is big man and Alex isn't. They both are at the same height and same weight. My bad. We will see what happens in 16 years.
