D.C. Sniper to be executed tonight

Good. He deserved his death for real!

Looks like most AD members are in favor of executions??

Why are you worried about our views so you are very paranoid, that all I say so don't worry about us but yourself.

I support death penalty for serial killers, child murderers and child rapist, for single homicide so spend life in prison, depends on situation.

It isn't party issue.

I agree with Oceanbreeze. Killing people is never right. They could have kept him locked up in maximum security. We use very sophisticated methods, but how is this any different from stoning people in other countries? Maybe we should chop people's hands off for stealing. If you shoplift, bring out the machete.

I'm from the Washington DC area originally and I am very well familiar with the area that the killings took place. However, I take no real satisfaction in this man's execution. It won't bring the victim's back. It really doesn't soothe the loved ones, either. It won't prevent some other person from doing the same thing.

So, really. What have we accomplished other than ensuring that HE won't kill again? In my mind, we've accomplished nothing.

Your right, it won't bring the victims back but neither will letting him sit in prison for life living off of taxpayers money laughing at the victims and their families. If we let him go to Jail, he gets three meals a day, medical dental, clothes and unlike his victimes-he gets to live out the remainder of his life. He took his victims lives, cut it short by playing god. Sometimes killing someone is the right thing too do and this is a perfect example. Maybe we can force him to save a few lives by donating his kidneys, liver etc. I also hope Texas executes Hasan.

Don't play the self riteouse and claim that the death penaly is wrong because I can guarantee you that if it was your loved one he shot and killed you would want to kill him yourself!

I think that we spend more money on legal proceedings than it would cost just to incarcerate him. It takes forever to execute someone and the defendant gets lots of appeals. We pay for state's legal expenses.

I had a prof who put it this way--the personal need for revenge is different than the societal need for justice.

Don't paint everyone with the same brush...

There was a certain school shooting in 2006, and no one sought out to get revenge... or acted in anger, which was an unusual action for people to take. Even if a lot of the school shooters end up commit suicides, people still look for repercussions. However in that incident in 2006, that community did not display any form of it.

So don't preach the choir if you don't know who the audience is. ;)

In bold, it is only applies to muslim countries so Islam isn't official or dominant religion in US and it is against under 8th Amendment.

I agree with you.

I am sure glad he's dead but from a judicial point of view, it's still wrong.

Who is preaching here? Not me, the families of the victims requested this and I support them. Ding Dong the which is dead!!! Serve another one up to our justice department. Died at 2111 today, hows that for efficiency?

Exact my point, death penalty means nothing, now that John rest in peace, no more headache, no more suffering, no more nothing, yet it has NOT close anything! Execution is truly a easy way out for any criminals.

I just wish that they would send him in hole forever, plus 100% isolation... and that is the real punishment.

You want send John to ADMAX and have rot with Al Qaeda inmates? lol.

I'm for executions for such heinous crimes like Hasan and Akbar did. Deliberate acts of murder deserve the chair. They do not deserve any more time on earth.

at ADMAX, they cannot socialize or talk to each other. it's 23 hours of isolation and 1 hr outside.

Read the bold.

:dunno:
I'm not sure what you trying to say? Did I even meantion your name? No, so your trying to create drama over nothing-this concludes our discussion between you and I.

I am sorry but I dont feel any remorse nor sympathy for this guy's death. They shot a kid in Bowie! Because of that, every parent around here were terrified about sending their kids to school. I will never ever forget that terror. My daughter was living in Salisbury (2 hours away) so I was ok but I felt for my friends who had children going to school in the areas that were affected. One of my friends broke down from all the stress worrying about her two kids walking to school.
