Yea, I have noticed that too. I can see a tighter bond with my deaf friends and their parents who learned ASL for them than those whose parents do not know sign language. My mom tries hard to communicate with my brother and I so we do have a close bond with her despite her not knowing sign but the rest of the family dont really talk to us as much as they talk to our hearing cousins. I always hear about them doing things together but dont do things with my brother and I.
Whenever I meet my friends' parents who know sign, it seems like they are more involved with everyone and the conversations than those who do not know sign.
