My computer specification:

Dell Dimension 4300 (2002)

- Intel Pentium IV
- 1.8 GHz
- 512 MB RAM
- 16 MB ATI-Rage 128 Ultra Video Card
- CD-RW
- 20 GB HDD
- Windows XP Pro w/ SP2

I will post a pic of my computer later...

Just out of curiosity, do you remember how much it cost back then?

I've found it much cheaper to build a computer instead of buying one. I built a computer with similar specs as yours last year and it was relatively inexpensive to do so. I'm just curious what those were running when they were new ;)

How much does Dell Dimension 4300 back then? My dad bought it for my bday in 2002.. :)

Really cool! I read somewhere that yours is faster than a G5 1.8.

Mine is:

PowerPC G5 970 dual 1 GHz.
512 MB of RAM
Superdrive
160 GB and 160 GB backup
64 MB ATI video card ??
Mac OS 10.3.8

Yes, it's cheaper to build it yourself. However, you're at greater risk of not doing it properly or damaging the computer.

Alienware CustomPC

AMD Athlon XP 2600
2.08GHz
512MB RAM
GeForce FX 5200 Ultra 128MB
16X DVD-ROM
80GB
Home Edition sp2

Im thinking of upgrading my pc since the kids are complaing of freezes and not powerful enough. What do you guys recommend?

Actually the G5 is faster than my G4, :P The specs u have are wrong. G5 began at 1.6 GHz, not 1 GHz, so I assume u have a dual G4 7455 or 7457.

By the way, here are the pics of my G4 with the door open.
