I'm a Oklahoma Sooners fan. However, there's been a debate over whether we should continue with BCS or call for Playoffs. I think it'll be a lot more fun if there was a 16-team playoff featuring the top 16 college teams with no more than 2 losses in the final top 25 poll. Have the playoff play during the 3-5 week during Dec and the final champ in the first week of Jan. Would that be cool? I think it'll prove who's the TRUE football champion. BCS system is so screwed up and unfair.

Vote and tell us what you think, dude!

Ou Sooners Beat Osu!!!!!!!

My Sooners just beat Oklahoma State!!!! YAHOO!!!!! We're on our way to BIG 12 Champ game!! GOOD BYE, Nebraska!!!!!!!:bump:

BCS's silly system and playoff don't have a enough time with plenty good teams didn't make it.

BCS's system are able to solve little problem.

Playoff system with too many good team with two losses....how to solve (only BCS can solve the problem)? Not all leagues has championship game.

BCS > Playoffs

I am not fan of BCS or playoff. Only wanna to see great match up in any bowls.

A difficult issue here...

I think I would go for the playoff system rather than BCS system.

Lookin' at Michigan and Florida situation as who deserves the second spot in the BCS to play against OSU??
(After #2 USC lost to unranked UCLA and #4 Florida won after #8 Arkansas)

I would say Florida deserves it. Why? Michigan already lost to OSU. Also I looked at Florida's and Michigan's schedules... and guess what? Florida's schedule favors more than Michigan's schedule has shewn.

Yep, BCS sometimes screw up and sometimes work fine. Not perfect yet.

But playoffs could create scheduling problems like the guy's post before me here. It also couldn't afford any "cinderella" team going as far into the playoffs if you understand me meant.

Why not we experiment using playoff system for 2 years only and see how it fares. If no good, go back to the BCS system.

Duh... but would like it to witness it in the making.

OU SOONERS, the BIG 12 CHAMP!!!!!!!!!!!! YIPEEEE!!!!! :dance2:

I definitely think Florida deserves to play OSU. They have much tougher schedule that Michigan. And because Michigan lost to OSU, I don't think Michigan deserves a rematch, whatsoever. Go Gators!

I agree about the "cinderella" teams. However, if we could limit to all teams that won their Conference title, and few that are in the top ranks in AP polls. I think it'll be fair enough for those who complete each other. Similar format to the March Madness NCAA playoffs. Number 1 seed plays against the number 16 seed, etc, etc. I strongly think the playoffs is the main solution, of course nothing will ever be "perfect". BCS is totally a corrupted system.

I'd say, give Boise State the opportunity to play for the championship...they're the only other unbeaten team....they've proven over time that they're real, not just going with 'luck' just this year only...let them prove that they're more capable of playing and competing with the big dawgs of the NCAA. ;)

The playoff system looks charming and nice as well as an interesting concept. The only thing and problem with it is the funding that goes with it...it would be quite costly and run fees possibly right through the roof. Therefore, whether the BCS system may not be all that great, but it's one that the majority of colleges can live with and abide by for now.

I don't see how the funds & fees would differ than funding the BCS system. They're paying $10+ million to almost each top bowl winners. If they can afford that, then they can afford having a playoff system.

It'll be good to see some smaller colleges proving they can play the 'big dawgs', however their schedule strength may not be comparable to the 'big dawgs" which allows them the flexibility to win more games, even if they haven't loss a game for the season.

That's another downside of BCS, the system won't match the underdogs with the 'big dawgs'. Throw away the BCS!!!! The playoffs will definitely determine the strengths of the team. Say allow couple 'cinderella' teams like Boise State and Rutgers to prove they can go all the way.

:)

As with 80% of the country, it seems we all agree that a playoff is necessary. It's all about money and "revenues for the BCS conferences" it really gets frustrating to all those around the country who are in the BCS "alliance" If it were up to me I'd do an 8 team playoff. Even +1 game would help. I was thinking with all the hype with the BCS series how couldn't they figure out a way to make it work........they could be looking at revenues from 3 extra playoff games which with TV rights and National sponsors could ad a few more BILLION dollars. All in all I am just shaking my head at the whole thing year after year.

Im a University of Utah fan and a couple years ago I'd of loved them see a chance to go at the other 3 unbeaten teams for a shot at the national titile. Do I think they could of won? Um I dunno, but nobody knows unless the game is really played. Look at Boise State this year....and I have seen them play in person many times in the last few years. They have a Louvisville type offense that could stiffle anyone and I'd like to see them to get a chance.

Arguments For
BCS
• Creates a playoff atmosphere throughout the season.
• Uses the traditional college bowl games

Playoff
• Decides the better team in head-to-head competition.
• Would be easy to implement using the current system of Bowl games.
• Would create a lot of interest and excitement in post-season play.
• Would eliminate, or at least limit, doubt or controversy.
• The majority of fans seem to want it.
• A playoff system seems to work just fine in I-AA, II and III.
• It's the only fair way to decide who the best team is.
• Adding another Bowl game to hold a true national championship game would generate millions of dollars.

Arguments Against
BCS
• Allows the National Champions to be crowned based on statistics and personal opinion.
• Produces a controversial champion as often as it produces an undisputed winner.
• One off game can eliminate a team from contention.
• Smaller non-BCS conferences are at a disadvantage.

Playoff
• Would diminish the value of the regular season.
• An already-long season would have to be extended.
Would take more time away from acedemics.

Where it Stands
The current BCS contract runs through the 2010 bowl season, so we may not see a playoff system in major college football for quite some time.
Starting in January, 2007, the site of the game that served as the final BCS game on January 1 will now serve as the host facility of the new BCS National Championship game, which will be played on January 8.

This note from About website.

So, we have to be waiting until 2011 to see which we are having : BCS or Playoff. :|
