You are no way invisible with your posting, DeafMonkey, you were right the first time. I did adopt my son this past Monday. I have 3 children now. Ages 26, 21 and 9. I am what is called "starting over again"

Hi CrazyMomma!!!! I have been fostering a little deaf boy named Tiger for almost 4 years now. This is the second adoption for him, and third name change for him. He was terminated by his birth parent's back in '99 and adopted in 2000 by his Maternal Grandmother. I met Tiger when he was 3 years old at the deaf school I was working at. He had no sign language skills or any speech at all. So, my husband and I offered to help her out with teach Tiger ASL. We took him on weekends for about 2 years, and then, found his grandmother who adopted him was not fit to take care of him, so DCYF knowing that we had been taking Tiger on weekends, asked my husband and I to be his foster family, and we agreed. Then his grandmother's rights were terminated last summer, and we filed for adoption to keep Tiger forever. Which happened finally this past Monday. So we changed his named from Tiger to Thomas Jackson Roderiques. It was a long battle and a hard one, because my husband and I became very close to her, and when she couldn't take care of Tiger anymore, and we stepped in as foster parent's it was a very sticky situation, but, Tiger needed help and a structured family life. His life was so crazy with his grandmother. That is the story on how we now have a son!!!!DeafMonkey
