I Bet now shes gonna run to her lawyer and sue the tabbaco companies.See its all about money. It says right on every package you buy ""WARNING That Cigarette might be hazards to your health"" People know the warnings what cigarettes can do and the minute they get lung cancer they run to their lawyers.

How do you know she smokes? My father died of lung cancer and he did not smoke for 25 years.

Hope she will beat it but it is not going to be easy. It is number one killer.
 
I think its time congress make cigarettes like illegal drugs. And you cannot sell cigarettes in america anymore.And F.B.I should make a sting raid on underground people who sell cigarettes illegaly. Just like how they make drug busts.

You're right, Jazzy. NOT all lung cancers are caused by smoking. My neighbor never smoked a day in his life, and yet, he died of lung cancer at the end of last year.

Wanna know what did him in? Asbestos. He was exposed to it fifty years ago. The stuff got into his lungs, and caused changes in the lining of his lung that predisposed him to his cancer. He was diagnosed in 2003. He passed away this past November.

I sincerely wish the best for Dana Reeve and her son, Will. I particularly feel bad for the boy. He lost father less than a year ago, and now, his Mother is ill.

Very sad.
 
It's shame!! She lost her loving husband a less than a year ago, and she is facing herself, and planning the future for her son Will. Man, it is going ot be tough to beat that dangerous killer.

I am glad I don't smoke and I don't even wanna to try any cigarettes. It's NASTY!
 
lung cancer is not only from smoking.. its also from second hand smoking, and pollution caused by factories. i'm sure there's more to list.. but that's all i can think of for now.

It is sad to hear about Dana Reeves having lung cancer. No, it doesnt come from smoking. It can be anything that caused her to have lung cancer.

She is nonsmoker.

Lung cancer is not coming from smokers. It can be something else. My good friend who is 62 years old non smoker and he have lung cancer couple years ago. The doctor remove his tumor in his lung and I believe he told me it was about 7 to 8 inches cut off on the top of his lung. He is fine now.
Doctor says it can coming from inhale smokers in the bars or smog or etc.

Right!!!! Make smoking totaly against the law and you can eliminate many factors of lung cancer.

They do that already.....ever hear of the ATF Bureureu? (Alchohol, Tobacco and Firearms) the guys who did the raid on Ruby Ridge?
Oh, and there are some people who get lung cancer for reasons other then being smokers!
 
Oh my gosh...thats terrible for Dana...and for the poor kid too if he is going to lose his mother too!! how sad!...Yeah, lung cancer can be caused by other factors besides smoking too..I know a lady who has died from lung cancer and she has never, ever smoked a cigarette in her life, strange. Doctors really dont know what caused her lung cancer. I think its environmental, like
pollution or something like that.
Well, we could pray for Dana and hopefully if it was caught in time, she might be ok.

Ever heard of something called FREE WILL? You can't legislate everything. We all have to live our lives. I'm sorry you don't smoking. I don't like it, either. In fact, my Mother has a chronic lung disease that is eventually going to kill her, and it WAS from smoking! But, you don't seem me screaming for law suits every 10 seconds!

Get a grip, Steve. Money doesn't solve everything; especially when it's the loss of a loved one. People are irreplaceable. You can't put money damages on that kind of loss.
 
Some of us grew up in houses that had asbestos siding on them. The deaf school where I worked (and went to school!) had alot of asbestos in it, which they removed later on, but probably too late for many deafies who went to school there.
 
oh sorry to hear about dana reeves hope she can make it through for her family's sake and for herself as well.

(sorry for go off topic-> Raven: I am really pissing off at you for bringing up such a crap thing about suing on things in serious topic such as this which shouldnt not be brought up and it should be for moral support/sypmathy to people who are going through hard time or loss of someone. You cant go sue everywhere for such a little thing like smoking because it right on label of pack or carton and it's their own risk to smoke, the company cannot force them to smoke to keep their business running. I am going to put you on ignore list since I am getting fed up with your complaining/whining/craps about law thing. I cannot believe you have no heart or feelings for those who going through this or loss of someone since you keep bringing up craps in here that is nothing to do with dreadful deal that they have to go through or loss of someone. I admit I don't know. Why don't you ask them why they make the laws that they do?

I need to ask you...What do you have against the tobacco companies? Do you smoke? Have you smoked? Are you ill? If the answer is no, then you have absolutely nothing to bitch about!

I do have something to bitch about. Scintist have found out second hand smoke can cause type 2 diabetes. Im gonna talk to a lawyer about this after i get my first case solved to get my job back.
