Yes, Australian christmas tradition is correct. Most people still have a hot cooked christmas lunch and most places/homes have air conditioner to keep us cool. We also have a barbeque in the evening too, some people do. For dessert, we have brandy sauce to go with the christmas pudding. Gosh! I am drooling for the christmas dinners and desserts now. lol

Turkey? Always thought it was chicken as turkey's not commonly eaten over here. Besides it's cheaper to purchase chicken than turkey anyway.

The Aussie's christmas is strange.

Most Aussie people go away on HOLIDAY on Boxing Day, and won't be back around the New Year's.

Hotels and Motels are very BUSY at Christmas, we Aussie learnt to book it at around last October to avoid any disappointment.

I still miss British's white Christmas!!

Anyway I still buy chocolate Advent calendars for my youngest daughter Jo, she open one window each day and find a Christmas chocolate inside.

Also my daughter in High School making a Gingerbread house and icing all over with chocolates and decorate it very well.

I did change my traditional Christmas, because sumth'n different we'll have 1 gifts on Christmas Day... just wait til Boxing Day... Rest of us run after Mall and grab their wish list from Christmas... "Christmas Boxing Day" Why not?

Families or in laws families will have Christmas dinner are most different date visit their place..

The Ukrainian tradition link is good and interesting as I am Ukrainian as well... yes we will have Ukrainian Xmas on Jan 7th but we will see how something progress in our family crisis by then... I also think we will go on ahead with that no matter what happens and more...
