Today after work, My wife goes to pick up the 9wks old lab puppy that she will be training in obedience and then progress into the Hearing Service Animal. We are hoping its the Chocolate lab I want, but will take whatever is available from the litter. I seen a Golden Retriever puppy last night at the training center, they are cute as puppies but I don't care much for the adults...lol just too much hair.

Wow - good luck with the puppy!
we had a very young choc. lab pup come into the store <I work at a holistic pet supply shop> just before close one day. She was just gorgeous.
I like Goldens but no, I wouldn't want the higher grooming needs/hair...my Rotties already leave small amount of black fur laying about. Not much but some.

Lab pups are a lot of fun...they do like to use their little mouths though. Typical puppy stuff and then some because of the nature of the breed.

Yes, I had a black lab before, puppies chew the table and chair legs off....lol but I hate the furniture my wife has anyways...lol
I wish he was a better learner at the time but was very stubborn, he is still in the family just living with the in-laws as their lab passed and the kids wanted another so we let him go stay with them. I still see him every now and then, he is a monster sized pup, I think he had Rott in him because he is massive !

"....hate the furniture..." :giggle: guess it's a good thing cuz there won't be any... still remember my beloved black Lab boy who liked Bitter Apple....

may be some Rott in that dog, as I see many Lab/Rotti mixes. But also there is a move toward really huge <tall and/or big-boned> Labradors, just as there is sadly a move toward very large <or "big heads" in > Rotts, which is totally inappropriate for the Rottweiler breed.

Pictures of the little chocolate plz....

Funny because that's what we used as well and they just keep chewing, seems like they love the stuff. Went to vinegar in a spray bottle, they don't like that at all.

Luckly that you didn't get a Great Dane, this dog chewed the size of the couch into a tooth pick!!

My cousin adopted a Great Dane pup, I thought it was a colt....
Just a few months old and it takes up the whole couch and reaches the top of the fridge.

I think he or she is very cute baby puppy:D
H/she does, however, look what I would consider "worried", in the shot.
New puppies have a lot to get used to!

geez, doubled again!

:lol:the "anti-chew" product...needs an anti-chew product
<picture before the puppy>

This is what I use for my dog to get him off of things and it also got him to stop jumping on people.

I thought the same thing, re the worried look, but figured it's because it's the first time away from his/her family & "home". Hopefully s/he'll adjust quickly to her/his new family.

Yes Maya ( a she) is a little scared, tail between legs but playing with the other dogs. I took her out first thing this morning when I got up before heading to the house and she pottied, didn't go in her crate so she is doing great so far.

Yes, I had a thread here somewhere that My wife and I are working things out now, We had a long talk over a dinner out during the 4th of july.

I'm glad she played with the other dogs and what a good girl to keep her crate clean!

I had a Golden once and hope to have another someday. It's nothing that I would consider high grooming needs - just a brushing twice a day, same with the German Shepards - another dog I love. Both are wonderful animals and very loyal.
