It is up to Americans to answer if they want so you have no rights to interfere with them if they want answer all questions..
Census is very interesting to check out, especially population, race, gender and age.

Oh, yea... it's NONE OF THEIR BEESWAX about my personal info. I will just tell them only ONE head. Period. :)

WHO told you that I have no rights to interfere with them ? :cool2:

Census never force you to answer all of them but just up to you if you don't mind to answer the questions.

Yup, you are trying to interfere with some people who enjoyed to answer all of questions because they want to do.

You are just obsessed about Census is invasion of your personal so quit being worry and go outside and be happy.

Not going waste of my time, you don't understand, even I'm talking to Maria, not you.

You stated this....

Who said they wanted to interfere with others answering the Census????

No one even said they were against the census.

It has been stated that it was stupid for them to send out a letter announcing they would be sending a census form in a week

AND

That government doesn't have a right to ask us for additional information. If people want to volunteer that info that is up to them.

I CAN just SAY only ONE head... and yes, it is MY business. :)

Yup, you are trying to interfere with some people who enjoyed to answer all of questions because they want to do.

Huh ? I am NOT trying to interfere with some people. IF, they want to tell them... then, that is fine by me. I am talkin' about ME and I don't have to tell them about my own personal info.

You are just obsessed about Census is invasion of your personal so quit being worry and go outside and be happy.

Obsessed ? Gee, where did I say it over and over as if you think that I am sooo obsessed about CENSUS ? This is only first thread I can say my pieces.

I am not worryin' about them. It's MY life, not theirs. And, I do whatever I want to do with MY life as I feel like tellin' it. You don't know my life.

Again, where did she say she wants to prevent OTHERS from answering? She said "my personal info". By "they" she was referring to the government.

Nobody cares if OTHERS want to volunteer info.

She did, it sounds like she is angry with government and don't want fill out the Census form; I'm just told her that she shouldn't worry about not answer the Census form because there is no law that require us to fill out all questions. I had feel like pushed by her to not fill out if I get it from mail and can't believe about her, that it.

If she don't to you so good for you since everyone has different feeling.

I do like Census, especially information about population, race, age and gender.

Yeah, he doesn't get it because he doesn't know that you don't know if you are coming or going over half of the time. :D

.

BTW....Wrong

Do I have to fill the form in?
Yes. Respondents are required by law to answer all questions to the best of their ability

from 2010 Census

ok ya'all. it's just a simple matter of miscommunication and misunderstanding. let us all move on to constructive criticism about this.

I want to ask ya'all a question and I only need yes or no.

When deciding to move somewhere, would you like to live in a community of certain parameters such as certain % of specific race, average salary range, etc?

Oh really so sorry for misunderstood so whatever.

Fill out the Census form is just important, in my opinion.

Census Law and Fines
The following section of the United States Code requires that people fill out their U.S. Census forms and provides a $100 penalty for not answering the Census and up to $500 for giving false information.
13 USC Sec. 221
TITLE 13 - CENSUS

CHAPTER 7 - OFFENSES AND PENALTIES

SUBCHAPTER II - OTHER PERSONS

Sec. 221. Refusal or neglect to answer questions; false answers

(a) Whoever, being over eighteen years of age, refuses or willfully neglects, when requested by the Secretary, or by any other authorized officer or employee of the Department of Commerce or bureau or agency thereof acting under the instructions of the Secretary or authorized officer, to answer, to the best of his knowledge, any of the questions on any schedule submitted to him in connection with any census or survey provided for by subchapters I, II, IV, and V of chapter 5 of this title, applying to himself or to the family to which he belongs or is related, or to the farm or farms of which he or his family is the occupant, shall be fined not more than $100.

(b) Whoever, when answering questions described in subsection (a) of this section, and under the conditions or circumstances described in such subsection, willfully gives any answer that is false, shall be fined not more than $500.

I just LOL to people who are wearing tin foil hats thinking that Census is a way to identify them and send them to concentration camps.

Demographics are beneficial....,but the issue remains, Does the government have the right to force you to give this information with the threat of penalty? I say no.

Do I have to answer the ACS questions?
Yes. Response to this survey is required by law (Section 221 of Title 13). Respondents
are required to answer all questions on the ACS to the best of their ability. Your answers
are very important because they represent the answers of many other similar households
in your community. The data that you and others provide in response to this survey are
required to manage or evaluate federal and state government programs. If you submit an
incomplete form or provide data that are unclear, the Census Bureau may contact you by
phone or in person to obtain or clarify the missing information.

Why does the Census Bureau ask such detailed questions on the ACS?
The ACS questionnaire asks detailed questions because the Census Bureau is required
to collect specific information for Federal and state government programs. For example,
long-term care providers and community planners use information about disability to
help them decide where to locate services and facilities. Federal and state government
transportation planning agencies use journey-to-work information for roads and public
transit development. You can find Fact Sheets that explain why the Census Bureau asks
each question on the ACS Web site at <http://www.census.gov/acs/www/SBasics/SQuest/factsheet.htm>.

What are the penalties if I do not respond to the survey?
Both Title 13 and Title 18, United States Code, provide for monetary penalties for failure
to respond. Title 18, U.S.C., Section 3551, et seq., the Sentencing Reform Act of 1984,
establishes uniform penalties for all federal crimes. Title 13 U.S.C., Section 221, makes
it a misdemeanor to refuse or willfully neglect to complete the questionnaire or answer
questions posed by census takers and imposes a fine of not more than $100. This fine is
changed by the Sentencing Reform Act of 1984 from $100 to not more than $5,000.
The Census Bureau is not a prosecuting agency. Failure to provide information is not
likely to result in a fine. The Census Bureau staff work to achieve cooperation and high
response rates by helping the public understand that responding to the ACS is a matter
of civic responsibility, and prefers to encourage participation in this manner rather than
prosecution.
