CCTV: Delivery Man Throws Monitor Over Fence
FedEx Delivery Man Throws Computer Monitor Over Fence Rather Than Take Screen To Front Door | Strange News | Sky News

A delivery driver has been caught on CCTV throwing what appears to be a computer monitor over a fence rather than take it to the front door.

FedEx has vowed to track down the worker, who can be seen strolling casually up to the railings before his less-than-special delivery of the Samsung branded box.

A spokeswoman from the firm would not say what action would be taken against the employee once they find him, but warned: "This won't be his best day."

The YouTube user who uploaded the clip, gooble55, wrote in the description of the video: "The sad part is that I was home at the time with the front door wide open. All he would have had to do was ring the bell on the gate.

"Now I have to return my monitor since it is broken."

This man is idiot! he need ring and straighten to door! Or leave gate peroid!
never drop boxes can break that boxes they can refunds or exchanges!

This is one reason that it has become so costly to ship packages! Don't like your job? Find another one!

Wow, what a moron. He will get a permanent record once he gets fired. ;-)

Huh? If anything, the cost of shipping packages (at a commercial level) has decreased in recent years as more and more people turn to Internet shopping and more small contract shippers move into the marketplace to help the old giants (UPS, FedEx, USPS) pick up the slack. Haven't you noticed how most large scale retailers now offer free shipping when you spend a certain amount (usually 50$ or less)? So I don't know where you were going with this comment. I hardly think all shipping employees are like this guy.

My oldest son did all his shopping online...still waiting on FedEx to deliver...saw on the news recently here in Jax that some drivers leave the pkgs. outside the home owner's door (when they are not home)...and they got stolen...(home owner had video survelliance)...still looking for the culprit, tho'!....And my son lives in an apartment complex with his g/f.....sure hope it doesn't happen to him.

Usually if a package is left outside it is requested to do so in in a designated area. My sons medical supplies I need.. I always tell them to leave it on the porch if no one is home.

Give them specific instructions. I have told Fed Ex/UPS. That if I am not home leave it in the mail box, porch, or I will go to the warehouse and pick it up myself when it arrives to the local warehouse.

Alex,

I'm not talking about ordering online from large scale retail establishments that do give you free or discounted rates but from individuals and doing my own shipping. Those costs have gone up in my opinion. I didn't make any comment about all employees acting like this but I have seen how packages are treated. Just like luggage at an airport by the airlines. We have a Fed Ex and UPS terminal at our airport and I have seen them throw packages around like luggage!

Fair enough. I agree that shipping costs for individuals have gone up, but that doesn't have anything to do, really, with idiots like this guy tossing packages over the fence. It has more to do with purchasing power. individuals shipping private packages do not make as much money for shippers, therefore, they must be charged more. It's all economics, trust me. Also, what has affected the cost of shipping more than anything in the last several years is THE RISING COST OF GAS.

Perhaps you should be more clear about your reasoning and position before making a knee-jerk post that can be construed as assumption-making and generalizing.

Also, please do not start off every post to me in an epistolary format. It's not necessary, and it creates a sort of condescending feeling, at least to me. It's simply enough to just quote my original post and begin your response. :ty:

Word of the day!

Also, your name might not be "Alex". Better to use the screen name provided if it is necessary for someone to reply in the epistolary format.

Sorry, I just thought your name was Alex! No condescension meant or directed at you. All I was saying is that if less people file claims on damaged goods then shipping costs wouldn't rise quite so fast. Gas prices does have a lot to do with it.

Yeah, that's a good one, huh?

My name is most certainly Alex, but there's another person here who usually gets the designation of "Alex" and believe me, I wouldn't want to steal his spotlight! Hah. I am simple the write Alex ;)

That all factors in. But you left that out of your first post. Like I said, try to make your stance a little more transparent and informed as opposed to reactionary and unsupported. Don't make me school you on effective expository writing like I did with my freshmen. :)

My UPS and FedEx delivery people provide excellent service. I've never had any problems with them.

Today I waited for my last Christmas gift delivery from UPS. I met them at the curb. The guy (not the driver) handed me my package, and I handed him a gift bag. It had a thank you Christmas card and two bags of Christmas M&M's--one for each of them. Then I said "Merry Christmas" and waved good-bye.

Earlier, Hubby was able to catch the mailman when he stopped at our box. TCS gave him a bag of Christmas goodies. I guess we weren't the only ones who did because the mailman was already snacking on some other goodies.

well - if the shipping cost was rising so fast because of people filing claims on damaged goods.... the management has a very simple solution for this - install cameras on Fedex/UPS truck and reiterate zero-tolerance policy on daily basis - "ROUGH HANDLING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED".

so which one is the biggest culprit for rising shipping cost? gas price or people filing claims on damaged goods?

I think your family must be the Waltons.

My mail carriers and delivery people would probably appreciate m&m's, but I think they would appreciate a doobie more.
Sometimes I get my mail at 8PM along with the mail for someone down the street, and I'm just thinking, ''So where have you been?''

I often agree! We have asked our mailman not to park his truck in our side yard that floods and we worked so hard to reseed and grow grass in. As you already know we don't always get the same mail man or woman so having to always reeducate them was getting old. We asked that they park around the corner on the street like everyone else. (50 feet away!) Since drivers kept changing we had to end up calling the post office twice to complain and have them put a memo or note out to all the drivers not to park in our yard. I even have large rocks positioned there to stop them but they park on or drive over them! Do you know how hard it is to get to talk to a real person at the post office over the phone?! It has worked most of the time but we still occasionally get a newby parking in our yard! I don't get it? Use the street you knuckleheads! Meant with all love & respect for postal employees!:ty:

I would say that it is mostly gas prices but the other certainly doesn't help I'm sure.

Did you used to be a English teacher in school? :hmm:

It hasn't always been smooth sailing with our mail carrier. We did have one bad egg. He consistently got the deliveries wrong throughout the neighborhood. One day, Hubby was out front when the guy came to our box. TCS politely handed back a piece of mail and said that it wasn't our name or address. The mailman got all "postal" and retorted, "If I had to deliver mail to the right addresses it would take me all day!" Since TCS figured it was the guy's job to deliver the mail to the right addresses, he had to report him to the Postmaster. The Postmaster told him that they had many complaints about the guy. For the next few weeks we had substitute carriers. Finally, we got a permanent good one.

We used to give money as gifts to the mail carriers but now we decided we better not risk getting them into ethical trouble, so we switched to cards and edibles.

We do give a money gift to our newspaper deliverer.
