Yea, I once own Jetta and man! I love it! Very expensive to fix! The old version of diesel engine, I get average of 58MPG!!! I'm not lying! The newer Diesel (TDI) is alrighty, but less MPG. I think 45.

Really I love this car but we traded it for golf two years ago and I wish I got diesel instead of regular gas esp the gas price nowdays.

:jaw: 58mpg...Are you serious?!?!? Had no idea that diesels got such good gas mileage. All I know about 'em is that they are the noisiest suckers especially on a cold morning. That and smelly fumes...hate to behind them.

Man, I guess I'll have to check that option out next year as I'm probably going to get another car.
 
I am actually surprised your boss will actually pay for your car damages. That is one very honest man and these days, honest people especially honest bosses are very rare. As for me, I would go with American or European cars. Be glad you are still able to drive to work.
 
I had a little Tap in my rear so i faked a little neck injury.And the guy gave me $500 for my fender bender so he wont risk going to court.It paid off!! :)

3,500 for a fender bender...*faint* ofc its with gen-u-wine Honda parts.

When I had a fender bender from rear-ending another Toyota with my POS 78 Toyota (3 or so months before I finally killed it in the Pizza Hut-Domino's wreck) I ended up with a pretty smashed front end that would have taken about 500 to fix, but I replaced it with another front end I got off the junkyard for only $15 and 2 hours of my time and forget the paint job. It was funny to see an all yellow car with a gray front end piece but I didn't care what it looked as long as the damned Toyota got me from Point A to Point B in one piece.

From now since I havent driven Japanese cars 'cuz I ended up wrecking them more than American cars.
 
The auto body shop labor rates are higher than auto repair shop that's why it's so expensive to have a body repaired and too easy to total a car since it's fiberglass.

They don't make that regular diesel anymore. I think they stopped in 1991, then using TDI (Turbo Diesel). I think the motivation behind with TDI is power. Tell you this, if you want to save this much gas, you have to give up the speed! Of course it can reach to 83MPH nothing higher and it won't accelerate fast! Just like 18 wheelers. Have any idea how many HP in orignal Diesel engine in Jetta? only 50HP!!! There are time that I couldn't drive is going up very steep hill! Not enough power... But it does SAVE gas!!!

Seriously, my friend have one, and it is Shorota (spelling) and everything quits working! He had transmission failure, the power windows quit, drivers side door, can't open from inside, AC quit working, some buttons fall apart, much more to list... Call it cool car, eh? I don't think so! Hey, it is only 6 years old!

Buck, that is one of the reasons why our insurance is higher than it needs to be...dishonest folks like you making the rest of us look bad. Insurance companies have to cover their costs in which they assume a certain percentage are knuckleheads like you...

Dishonesty never pays in the long run. Once you are a marked person who is considered "dishonest", why should they ever believe you again? You need to brush up on the story "The boy who cried wolf".
